LL Cool J Opens Up About Being Abused As A Child

LL Cool J has opened up about being abused as a child, speaking with Oprah for “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” During the interview, he explained how his mother’s friend used to beat him as a youth, kicking him out into the snow without clothes on and hitting him with household objects.

“A friend of my mother’s. it wasn’t sexual it was just beating, take all your clothes off. Kicked out in the snow, ‘Stay outside,'” he recalled. “Just beaten with vacuum cleaner pipes. Just stripped naked, put your hands on the bunkbed. When you fall down, stand back up.”

The veteran rapper is currently prepping the release of his thirteenth studio album Authentic Hip-Hop, which he announced last November. It is currently unclear if that release date still stands.

    1. Its sad that people including kids go through these type of situations. Theres nothing funny about it. Glad to hear that LL is still making music. I like the new single with Joe.

    2. not to say that it didn’t happen but if this is therapy, LL should’nt get paid to do an interview on this matter. Which makes me think, get sympathetic for him, so he gets more recognition & money, as he gets older, and possibly permanently retire from rapping. public relations is HUGE in marketing.

    3. …LOL ANYTHING TO STAY RELEVANT,SELL AN ALBUM OR WRITE A BOOK,NEXT KIM K GONNA SAY SHE WAS ABUSED BY A BLACK MAN AS A KID THATS WHY SHE LIKES BROTHERS…CRY ME RIVER BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT.

      1. angry nerds will forever stay typing bullshit comments, while ll keeps getting that show money.. stay angry..

    5. yeah yeah, nigga’s career is over and now starts to bitch about he was beaten. Well LL my childhood wasnt all so not that great so stop crying.

      1. You dumb fuck, Oprah doesn’t interview black entertainers that don’t have a career. LL is getting that CBS NCIS money and he hosting the Grammys hows that for not having a career? According to your dumb ass.

      1. No, he beat the robber because he likely found the intruder to be a threat to his family & safety

        ………..idiot.

      WHICH RELEASE DATE???

    7. Just wanted to add this; “All the World: Greatest Hits” is considered an official part of LL’s catalog numerically, which is why his last album for Def Jam is called “Exit 13”. Because, for all intent and purposes, that was his 13th album.

That makes his next release his 14th LP.
