The Roots have announced plans to release a full-length collaborative album with veteran musician Elvis Costello.

During an interview with Billboard, ?uestlove said that the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania crew backed the singer-songwriter three times on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” They decided to hit the studio to cut a few songs, but ended up recording 20 tracks —12-14 of which they will use for the project, releasing later this year.

“It was really love at first sight,” said ?uestlove. “The second time he came on, we surpassed the first one. So by the third time, he was like, ‘Let’s stop messing around and do something together.'”

Additionally, Ahmir said that The Roots’ follow-up to undun is no longer titled &TYSYC. Instead, the group has extended the acronym and will title the album & Then You Shoot Your Cousin. “We’re in the genesis of that right now,” he said.
