Ne-Yo Hopes To See R&B & Slow Jams Make A Comeback In 2013

During an appearance on MTV’s Club NYE 2013 last night (December 31), R&B crooner Ne-Yo chose to speak on what he’d like to see more of in the New Year rather than dish on what his resolutions for the coming year are.

Ne-Yo shared that he’s hoping for the return of the slow jam in 2013 and a resurgence in the R&B genre as well.

“You know what? R&B music. Y’all remember slow jams? I want R&B to make a comeback in 2013 and I’m gonna try and have something to do with that,” Ne-Yo shared with MTV News.

Ne-Yo, who performed “Let Me Love You,” was also joined by fellow songsters Rita Ora and Sean Kingston during MTV’s New Year’s Eve special.

The singer’s New Year’s Eve performance comes just weeks after the release of his R.E.D. album which was made available on November 6, 2012.

      1. Yeah, and who else did real R&B music other than these two? Two artists aren’t enough, that’s why Ne-Yo has a point.

    1. I would love to hear real R&B music again, But the industry has changed too much. I really don’t think it will happen.

    2. Another I have a dream, keep hope alive, can’t we all be friends, love is gonna save the day, don’t worry about a thing ass nigga. Just wake the fuck up.

      1. Um, NO!!!!!!!!!!!

R&B hasn’t been worth a damn since the late 90s.

And she was one of the people responsible for fucking it up!!!!

    3. Only thing NeYo wants to bring back is dicks in his face. That dude has wild sugar in the tank. His R.E.D album stood for Relish Every Dick…fuck outta here

    4. Ne-yo believes he is the one. So I played Mr. Anderson, sat on his face, peddled his ears and shit down his throat.

    5. Says the fool that’s on every fckin David Guetta n Pitbull song. Are u fckin kidding me? He started off good when it comes to R&B but fell the fck off and has actually been the one(one of many) to blame for the decline of good R&B n slowjam music.

Anyways you can stay in ur poppy house lane to me though, no thx Ne-Yo. Open ur damn ears, we have peoples like Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Anthony Hamilton(still thankgod), even John Legend, Dwele, The-Dream(at times), Trey Songz still doing it yo. N still newer n lesser known cats like Miguel, Novel, Luke James. ETC ETC ETC.
Call Guetta n make another weakass clubtrack. Please..
