Joe Budden recently sat down with Fuse to discuss his Slaughterhouse brethren, explaining how he’s excited to hit the studio to record their next album while sober. During the interview, Joey said that the quartet was abusing substances during the recording of welcome to: OUR HOUSE, but that they’ve overcome their demons and will apply that to their next record.
“I’ll say this about my Slaughterhouse brothers, I’m real anxious to work on the next Slaughterhouse project,” he said. “We all – and not to break anybody’s anonymity – we all battled a lot of demons recording that last album and I think we managed to beat them all. I was high recording that entire album, and I was probably high during all the interviews as well. … Royce doesn’t drink Patron anymore. Crook doesn’t drink, Joell doesn’t drink. So this next Slaughterhouse project, it’s almost going to be like a whole new group. I can’t wait.”

Doesn’t really explain why it was so bad.
Em was high recording recovery and welcome to our house
Ur an idiot
and u mad cuz yo a dickrider
2nd anonymous (out of 3), sense of humour motherfucker, do you have it?
great excuse for a shitty album ..i was wondering how long after it would take for them to come up with an excuse for an extremely disappointing album! Em Is FALLING WAY OFF! only potential out the group is joell an royce crooked is cool but forgetable
Don’t know how everyone missed that Welcome to Our House & On The House were super lyrical. Guess people are too busy riding the Trinidad James bandwagon
just said why the album sucked
i blame the indusrty
get royce back on the patron
bar exam 4
Good to hear he’s left that shit behind and Joe sounds like he’s finally in a comfortable situation. We’ll see if his art suffers but I kinda doubt it. Need another Mood Muzik tho!
yo they need to get wasted
makes so much sense
an let me make it clear i was hoping the best for this group but eminem completley ruin any future these guys have in hip hop. i will see what there new material will sound like but im not shooting for the stars on that PERIOD!..BTW D12 Hadda WAAAAAy better beats lyrics an projects as a whole..an let me ask how do u get worserer the d12..dont get me wrong i fucking love that group an understand there place in hip hop not lyrical crazy but they all could hold there own! u cant expect every group or rapper to be better then everyone else in the genre but to be able to control ur own lane was something d12 could do..forunatley these guys all struggle with identity crisis! ..r.i.p old Em..FYI have u heared his recent fetures with pink an rihanna..holy fuck i cant even bare to listen to that shit no more..encore was the last good bit of em left!.
The album wasn’t that bad, their 2nd and 3rd singles what question should they buy it and plus having Em producing the thing as well. If Flip a bird and Goodbye or even Get up would have been their singles they might have sold more units.
2nd single was My Life, the best of the 5 singles by far and the most radio friendly. What they should’ve done was thrown Eminem on that track. I agree on Get Up that should’ve been the 3rd single instead of that Throw It Away garbage.
slaughterhouse with a 97 sound
or more like dialated peoples but the crazest flows
Their last album grew on me. I’m still not a big fan of Em’s production and I think he shouldn’t get more than a track if that on the next album. After I picked it back up I was really glad I purchased this album.
i disliked the singels but other then that it was ok whould of liked a darker mood tho
-watch the album be worse now joey pick up the blunt!
^only reson i want darker mood is the groups name is slaterhouse l0l
Keep recording girlfriends bet you still jack off
With your butt-cheeks out listening to mood music
Slaughterhouse are my favorite new rappers out right now. I think Joe Buddens is the best in Slaugterhouse and Yellow Wolf is the worst in the group, but he’s not that bad. Joe Buddens’s debut album next year will certifty him as one of New York’s best emcees. The Slaugterhouse debut this year was crazy, I bought 2 copies and I’m buying 2 copies of Eminem’s new album next year. Em really knows how to find and pick rappers, I never thought he could make such a lyrical group as Slaugterhouse.
Yelawolf isn’t in Slaughterhouse.
u bought 2 albums and u heard Yelawolf in there??
Get your facts straight idiot, yelawolf isn’t slaughterhouse!
you guys are idiots. he’s a troll. always saying how kendrick lamar made control system
Royce doesn’t drink PATRON anymore lol………But he still drinking everything else
We all – and not to break anybody’s anonymity – we all battled a lot of demons recording that last album and I think we managed to beat them all.
^^^^^
all this right here is fucking hilarious. lame excuses. well maybe if these guys sober up they’ll prevent Em from picking any beats on their next album.
the production on Welcome to Our House didn’t suit Budden the least bit. there really isn’t a sound that caters to all 4 as a group. they’re better off as solo artists.
I agree they are better off as soloist, but it comes a time when a group(rap group) understands what songs people should be on and what songs people shouldn’t be on. Its 4 people in a group. All 4 of them don’t need to be on every song. Thats why as a group the Wu, Lox and Mobb Deep understood how should be on what songs. LOX didn’t have Jada,Sheek and Styles on every song on every album. Wu same shit. Before the solo careers, Method Man, ODB, Ghostface and Rae all had solo songs. And Prodigy sometimes did half the albums himself with Havoc only on a beat.
SH needs to find their shit. And Em isn’t helping them by turning them into D-12.
Damn, is that some hidden reference? He said they were under influence of alcohol during the recording of their previous project – and who can cure such problems? A DOCTOR. Where? At DETOX!
lol i don’t think so little man
Nah I dont think so hahaha, ”hidden reference”, they dont make it that subliminal
Why is Shady Records so obsessed with substances??? Getting high is becoming kinda played out with these niggas talking about drugs on every fucking record
the beats were ok but didnt fit Slaughterhouse…im used to hear shit like Wack Mc’s,Warriors,40-40,Onslaught,Salute,Sound Off etc…the Rescue Me beat was the only one that fitted them
LAUGHTERHOUSE!!!
making more fucking excuses for their cornball bullshit…
if these bums don’t hang out in strip clubs drankin’ what the fuck will they rap about?
THROW A DICK, JOELL!!!
also, funny how Buddens doesn’t say ** WHO ** another LAUGHTERHOUSE album will be for.
Hint: no fucking way it’s Interscop, whom they still owe $$$ too.
Somebody’s finished shaking the presents in the closet. And why would you want a man to “throw a d*ck”? That sounds like some suburb goof-ball acne prone kid speaking.
LOL @ 2nd Anon
fuck around with Shady u gonna cross path with his demons or they knew working him was gonna be fun so they wanted to get high/drink while doing so
Oh really oh ok, Im so naive I believe everything. Breaking News!! Welcome to our house was wack as f*ck because they were abusing substances. Not because the label was mind f*cking them, or they were catering to slim shady…not that. They were on substances everybody, please understand that. OMG maybe they will come out with The slaughterhouse recovery album and it will be sooo good!!
i like slaughterhouse but this is kinda lame. they are making excuses for a mediocre album and now they sound like eminem with this “cleaning up” shit. I mean good for them if thats what they wanna do but it won’t make them a “new group”
well said
Budden said Fock the fanz when ppl gave criticism now he in rehab lookin like CommSense in ’01, talkin htis battlin demon shizz?! Universoul circus.
^LOL! Common in 01 has me dying!
it better be better that that last album smfh
I NEED THAT SHIRT! anyone know where i can get it?
its a secret.
they defs weren’t sober while recording material before WTOH so the whole “brand new group” thing is bs

Dust head
Joe Budden explains that the group was heavily using substances while recording “welcome to: OUR HOUSE.”
Okay so this was the reason the album sucked!!!!!!!!!!
good one
that’s his point idiot
Whatever to the haters.. I’d like to hear more music from them. Doesn’t matter if they’re going platinum or “triple wood”.. I’ll cop it.
hahaha, wack ass excuse for one of the worst albums to come out this year. old ass eminem sobered up after that terrible relapse album and made an even worse album with recovery. so i can only see that slaughterhouse’s next album is going to be just as bad, more failed attempts at crossover success on the way.
Disagree, Recovery wasn’t as bad as The Relapse. The Relapse was probably the worst disappointment ever. People say Nastromdumus was bad(honestly it Nastromdumus isnt that bad just underwhelming) The Relapse is that times 50. Terrible. The Recovery had like 5 songs that was hot. The rest were garbage.
They were under the influence of wackness.
lmfao man you internet niggas are some of the worst critics since the dawn of humanity.
Man this is bulls**t. Is everyone on shady substance abusers ?
Former artist cashis with xanax.
Em with valium.
Yelawolf with alcoholism.
Now SH. pfffffffffff!!!!!!!!!
If u ask me its probably to raise buzz.
Lyrically, the album was pretty dope still. There were some missteps with the singles though.
But I mean Hammer Dance, Flip A Bird, Die, they still had some good songs.
