S1 Recalls Producing 50 Cent’s “My Life” Featuring Eminem & Adam Levine

One of the most highly-anticipated tracks from 50 Cent’s Street King Immortal is “My Life,” featuring Eminem and Adam Levine.

The track, which was produced by S1, will be performed live sans Eminem on NBC’s “The Voice.” In an interview with iStandardProducers, S1 discussed how he came to produce the cut.

“Well, Big ups to my mans Dre Mckenzie and Tony G (A&R for G-Unit Records) for making the connect for me,” he said. “I met Dre back in 2008 at the iStandard/One Stop Shop and kept a solid relationship with him. I would send him beats every month consistently for a couple years until I heard Fif wanted to buy these two beats from me. Remind you that this was back in Fall of 2010.”

S1 continued, recalling the moment he met Fif. “I went to [New York] and made a visit to Dre at the G-Unit office. Fif was in a meeting in the backroom so Dre took me back to meet him. When Fif saw me, he immediately gets up and leaves the meeting and tells me ‘I had an APB out on you. You got some HEAT!’ So we went into his office and he told me the concept of the ‘My Life’ record and spit his verses for me. He was like ‘This is gonna be HUGE.’

S1 explained that it took some time before the song emerged as a single. “So for the next year or so 50 cent would mention me in all his interviews about me producing on his album. Through the grapevine I was hearing Eminem hopped on the record then from an Executive at Interscope Records I was told Adam Levine was gonna be on the record. Fast forward through three mixtapes and one album later, the song stood the test of time and its about to come out now as a single.”

      1. THATS ACTUALLY NOT TRUE…USED TO BE TRUE, BUT NOWADAYS YOU SEE SOOO MANY PRODUCERS BECAUSE RAPPERS ARE FUCKING WITH SO MANY OF THEM

      2. S1 IS NOT UNKNOWN. HE PROD “POWER” FOR KANYE, THE LAST PART OF “MURDER TO EXCELLENCE” FOR WATCH THE THRONE AND ALSO DID TRACKS FOR PHONTE, TANYA MORGAN, RHYMEFEST, BEYONCE, XZIBIT, LITTLE BROTHER, TALIB KWELI. GET OFF 50’S DICK.

      1. yea… they are only 2 highlights off of 2 platinum selling and critically acclaimed albums that dropped only a year ago from 2 of the biggest musicians in the world. pssh that’s not relevant.

he also produced best thing i never had for beyonce. lol.
but hey you can try and downplay his accomplishment if it will help you sleep better about yours. but good luck trying to attribute the due of this interview all to eminem. good luck rationalizing that my dude. lmao

    1. These news would make more sense if the single or even the album was already out imo. Eyo, Fif. Where’s the album, man!

    2. alot of news on a song that is not even out yet…uess everyone is ready for this one …better be good 50..i pushing for u..

    3. 5 YEARS AGO THIS WUD HAVE BEEN A HIT BUT 50 IS DONE NOW NOBODY CARES THT NEW DAY RECORD FLOPPED HARD ONLY REASON PPL ARE GONNA BE CHECKING FOR THIS SONG HONESTLY IS BECAUSE OF EMINEM

    4. wow..adam levine from maroon 5?? lmfao, i really can’t see this song being any good, otherwise im sure it would have been released already..

      1. you’re completely right, that’s why they’ll premier it on The Voice and release it as single this Tuesday. Your logic is flawless.

    5. 50 cent is the worst.

i can just see this monkey working the phones like he’s on to something.

call adam levine since he’s got a big TV show and convince him working with 50 is good for adam. “maybe you’ll get my audience” the same audience that has abandoned him after his years of horrible music and industry bullshit. 50 is so desperate to be a star musician again, he’ll do anything to do it. it’ll never happen so he’s just going to embarrass himself trying.

what happened to his BIG single with dre and alicia keys? shit flopped. his album still has no date. the guy is FINISHED.

i see this performance being an epic disaster witnessed by millions that will only reaffirm this fact to whoevers watching, “50 cent is horrible”.

eminem will sell him some old vocals, but he WILL NOT fly anywhere to perform to help 50 cent. those days are done.

      1. Not only that coming from a guy living in his moms basement with no job and a miserable life. So he hate on another mans success. He secretly wish he had the life of 50 cent. Then reality kicks in!

      2. i dont understand the 2 comments above me. what does any of that have to do with what he said. nobody on these blogs has as much money as the celebrities they talk about, including you… so why are you bringing up irrelevant shit?
yet you guys say the same everyday to other rappers that are way more rich than you. you are all idiots smh

    6. I robs niggas I rapes niggas I shoots niggas I kills niggas that’s the shit I does you know what I’m saying??? Fuck S1 this nigga’ll never be sucessfull!!!

    7. “how much higher can you get then 50 and eminem?”

Levine as an entertainer is leagues above 50. Just seems strange that he would suddenly want to perform with someone who is basically done for. Not like he needs more fans.

    8. I went to an amusement park and went into the water section and didn’t smell shit but wet dog. But when I looked up I saw You, you punk bitch!

    9. 50 cent has proven that he can no longer get any critical attention on song by himself. this is big help. no hate, just being honest
