Tuesday (November 13) marked the eight-year anniversary of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s death.

Dirty, who died at the age of 35 due to a drug overdose, is still remembered fondly by his Wu-Tang brethren.

Both Ghostface Killah and Raekwon spoke with TMZ about their approaches to remembering Dirt Dog.

“Today I just want to have a day of prayer to let my brother know I am thinking about him,” said Rae of Big Baby Jesus.

“This still hits me real hard,” added Rae.”I will mourn over him today and think about how much he taught me.”

Ghostface also spoke about Dirt McGirt, though he said he took a different approach than Raekwon with regards to Ason Unique. “I never dwell on the day we lost him, I just celebrate the times I had with him.”

Ghostface explained his appreciation for Osirus. “I pray and thank God on this day because he is my angel … I spent the day just sitting quietly and praying. Dirt wouldnt want us mourning so I don’t.”

“I still hear his voice daily,” added Ghostface about Russell Jones. “Whether it’s his music or memories of things he taught me.”
