Meek Mill Crashes The Charts With Dreams & Nightmares
With more than a year of promotion under his belt, Meek Mill finally dropped his debut album Dreams & Nightmares last week. Upon its release, the Maybach Music Group member’s offeringbowed at No. 2 on the charts, selling 165,000 copies in its first week – enough for a dynamic entry, but not enough to best Taylor Swift’s Red. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania rapper acknowledged Cassidy‘s acceptance to battle, but later bailed on the idea. He also addressed how going to jail when he was 18 years old changed his life. “I really put my life into rapping,” he said. “They let me out on house arrest and the judge gave me permission to go to the studio, and that taught me another lesson because every day [I was] going straight to the studio for 12 hours straight and I started putting up six songs a day for three months straight — that’s what gave me my little jump start.”
