There hasn’t been a list this singular since J. Cole’s Cole World tracks started leaking. When an artist has a strong fan base of supporters, the proof of their loyalty lies within the ratings. As artists like Kendrick Lamar and Meek Mill embark on what many perceive to be their debut albums, their fans are eager to hear it all. The list this week shows all of that and then some. While a lot of music dropped, the people know what they really wanted to hear. Check out the results below.
Kendrick Lamar Continues to Run Hip Hop
Sounds like a bold statement, right? Well, with the critical acclaim of K-Dot’s Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City coupled with the number of times he pops up on the Top Singles list, it sounds pretty accurate. Kendrick ran the list last week and continues in that fashion this week. In at #1 is “Collect Calls,” followed by the “Swimming Pools Remix” with the other Black Hippy members (Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolboy Q) at #3. Then “The Heart Pt. 3” at #5 with Ab-Soul and Jay Rock, followed by “Poetic Justice” with Drake at #6. Kendrick even sneaks in A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problem” with Drake and 2 Chainz at #4, and then closes out the list at #10 with his freestyle from Big Boy’s Neighborhood.
Meek Mill’s Dreams Come True While Kanye West Still Has a White Dress
On October 30th, Meek Mill will drop his long-awaited Dreams and Nightmares. While Kendrick Lamar ran the list this week, Meek is next in line with the most cuts, as his “Dreams and Nightmares Intro” enters in at #2, followed by “Tony’s Story Pt. 2” at #9. Kanye West is still holding on, as “White Dress” remains on the list, this week at #8. The remaining track not yet mentioned comes from Vinnie Paz, whose “Razor Gloves” with R.A. the Rugged Man checks in at #7.
