With the exception of “Clique,” (in at #9) everything on the Top Singles list is brand new. That’s great to hear, considering for a few weeks we were working with repeats. We have a lot going on this week. There are triumphant returns from music veterans, tons of freestyles and remixes, plus a diss track. It’s really a mixed bag, and that’s definitely a good thing. Check out the winners below.

J. Cole Is a Fool, Diggy Simmons Agrees

So here’s how the story goes: a while back J. Cole made some remarks about Vanessa Simmons on “Purple Rain,” and Diggy Simmons retorted on “What You Say To Me.” Months later now, Cole did a freestyle at a show with Kendrick Lamar and went back at Diggy (and his sister). So, Diggy Simmons dropped “Fall Down” this week, which was a J. Cole diss and came in at #6. While J. Cole seems to be silent on the matter, he did drop a track (well, he let his fan do it) called “I’m a Fool” and hit #1. Does that mean Jermaine Cole gets the last laugh? For now.

Ghostface Helps the New God Flow, Missy Elliott and Timbaland Return

The track “New God Flow” was good (pun intended) enough when it first came out. However, once Cruel Summer dropped, we get Ghostface Killah on a brand “New God Flow.” That song hit the #3 spot, just under Kendrick Lamar’s “Who Shot Ya Freestyle” at #2. K-Dot shows up with another freestyle, “Stay Schemin” at #4. In other news, Missy Elliott and Timbaland have returned in full force. They dropped two tracks this week, one of which was “Triple Threat” and made it to #7 on the list this week.
