Yesterday (September 19) veteran emcee Kurupt alluded to a sequel to 2009’s BlaQKout, his collaborative LP with DJ Quik. Kurupt tweeted “Blaqkout 2……” in the early evening.
The first BlaQKout featured fellow ’90s West Coast Hip Hop emcee Yo-Yo. The Mad Science Recordings album debuted in the Top 100 of the charts, and was included in HipHopDX’s Top 25 Albums Of 2009.
A release date and additional information is forthcoming.

West coast is dead.
you’re dead
Take your dick riding ass back to n.y.
who gives a fuck.
Maybe Kurupt can allude to why the first one is rotting in a bargain bin right now.
i remeber when they first announced the first blaqout album it took them a cuple years to release it so this one will take another cuple years smh kurupt has so many projects like the nmates stay of executions which i hope they do release and another album looking 4wrd to hearing is the dpg alumni album o well
Quik is not a part of DPGC.
he’s an affiliate doe
looking forward to this for sure. West coast dead? I think not!!
first 1 was dope alot of people slept on it, 2 bad 4 them it was tight.
Don’t sleep because the first one was off the chain. Some of Quiks best production since Safe N Sound. Cop it
I know it wasn’t a big commercial success… but the 1st BlaQKout album was SUPER FIRE!!! I was just walking to Safeway the other day and decided to put the album on my cellphone to listen 2… Kurupt is still a beast on the MIC and having DJ Quik on the production and adding his verses is magical… real WESTCOAST shit… Quik was messing with DeathRow back in the days so Kurupt is very familiar with Quik… It was always static becuz of the gang colors, but they put it together when they got older and mature. PLEASE DON”T SLEEP ON THESE DUDES… BlaQKout 2
yea! that’s my shit. 1st album was fire
that album brings back some memories jew…i was in a hard spot and that album brought me through tough times…bring something!
Quik is in my top 5 D.O.A. I think he’s one of the most underrated artists in the history of hip-hop, when people talk the hottest producers you always hear Preme, Dre, but leavin’ Quik out of that convo is a joke to me, dude is on a whole other level when it comes to artistry. I loved the first Blaqout, alot of die hard Quik fans didn’t feel it because they think he stepped too far out of the box on production but I thought the whole shit was super dope. Can’t wait for the sequel, The Book of David was one of the best albums in the last 5 years in my opinion. Quik is truly a living legend.
