Since its inception in the 1970’s, Hip Hop has been compared to a number of things but reality star Kim Kardashian may be the first person to have ever compared rap music to that of reality television.

During an interview with V Magazine, Kardashian attempted to defend reality television as a form of entertainment by using the success of rap music as an example.

“I’m not naïve to the fact that I’m not a singer or an actress or anything like that,” said Kardashian, according to MTV RapFix. “I’ve never claimed to be anything that I’m not. I think [reality] is still a new form of entertainment that was kind of an unexpected thing…When rap music first came out, people were like, ‘We don’t understand this, what is this, it’s just a fad.’ But rap music is definitely here to stay, and I think reality shows have proven they are as well. But when something is newer, people don’t really understand it.”

Kardashian also went on to explain that she’s challenged herself to become the first ever reality star to receive their own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

“I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” she explained. “So, of course I’m so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold.”

Just months ago the reality star made headlines when after much speculation it was revealed that she was dating rapper Kanye West.
