The Top 10 Most Popular Hip Hop Singles The Week Of 8/13/2012

The week has proven to be a weird one in Hip Hop. While we’re all tuned in to see what’s the next move in some little debate on ghostwriting, the music is still happening. We have some album leaks, album snippets, and repeated wins this week. In addition, we have a throwback track that dropped several years ago make it to the list (you’ll see why). Either way, the rhymes were written (by someone), and the songs arrived. Check them all out.

Lupe Fiasco Has Lamborghinis, Kanye West, Eminem and Madd Rapper Return

With Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 coming September 25th, we’re obviously going to have some new tracks circulating from Mr. Lupe Fiasco. This week, Lupe takes the crown with “Lamborghini Angels” in at #1. A lot of tracks happened in between on the list this week, but closing it out at #10 was the track “Stir Crazy” by Madd Rapper. The song even has an Eminem feature and was produced by Kanye West. We dropped the song for Throwback Thursday, and it’s one of the rare gems to hit our Top Singles list. Was it Kanye West? Was it Eminem? Was it Madd Rapper? Who knows, maybe a combination of all three. It made it to the list and that’s all that matters.

Slaughterhouse Has Snippets, DJ Khaled Has Leaks

Slaughterhouse will be delivering welcome to: OUR HOUSE on August 28th (finally), so to keep the fans fed, the album snippets arrived. This was proof that the album is completed and hitting the streets sometime soon. They reached the list at #6 this week. The last time we had some snippets hit our list was during Rick Ross’ God Forgives, I Don’tcampaign. Speaking of album campaigns, DJ Khaled has started his. Kiss The Ring hits stores on August 21st, and of course the songs are circulating. At #2 was “Hip Hop” with Nas, Scarface & DJ Premier, and then again at #3 was “They Ready” featuring J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T. and Kendrick Lamar.
