Eminem Says “Hip Hop Needs” Slaughterhouse’s Album

While in New York, Eminem and the Slaughterhouse crew spoke about their group and what fans can expect. Em also discussed how he’s learned from Dr. Dre in the past and how he’s using it with his own label and music.

“I think Hip Hop needs this,” Em said of the new Slaughterhouse album during his recent interview with Sway in the Morning. “When people hear it, they’re going to be pleasantly surprised, people who don’t know what they’re capable of.”

Eminem also shared that he has learned many tricks from Dr. Dre that have helped him along the way.

“I think Dre was the first one who actually taught me how to count bars. I would just go in and rap,” Em shared before saying he’s learned from his mentor. “All of Dre’s little tricks, I’ve stolen from him over the years. I’ve tried to apply it to my own music and everything. Dre taught me so much.”

Slaughterhouse also premiered a track off their album, “Goodbye.” The audio for the song can be heard below.

    1. Yeah, Hip Hop needs anoter group that failed on a mainstream level, unites in the underground, tries mainstream again in group form, only to remind them why nobody liked them in the first place. Now they releasing a mixtape to make their fans think the album will sound anything like it, only to come out with a forced pop record, having their naive fans crying about how they sold out.

      1. Co-sign 1000%. Desperate bums with ZERO reason to make music together flop once… flopped THREE times with their singles… and ready to flop again on their album… which includes all THREE of the flop singles– say what?

These guys deserve every fail too; zero credibility, zero dignity and nobody who’s ever seen them live will do so again.

Em’s pity fuck for Royce (a decent rapper and horrible artist) has only embarrassed EVERYONE.

    2. i been on this site for about 3 and a half years im always hearing slaiughterhouse this and thst and eminem thinks tho and that and these guys have yet to drop a album like wtf ! dx quit posting about these guys they havent done nothing yet i havent heard a song on da radio these old guys needa sit down man the are never coming out !

    3. loved the first album havent heard anything that has leaked from there new shit except hammerdance so im hoping this album isnt a let down

    4. I dont care if they sell millions of records or not, i want to hear their LYRICS..i remember when hiphop was about LYRICS and STORY TELLING..take away all the money, cars, and past albums, each one of these guys can rap bar for bar with the best

      1. These asswipes can’t tell a fucking story; fat fuck fake scholarship student Joell HAD his chance on Ghost “Apollo Kids” and sucked– destroyed by the god (of course) AND Black Thought.

“Free Agent” huh? Guess that’s what happens when 2,500 people buy your album.

      2. But they tried to enter the same lane with “Throw It Away” & “My Life”, it wasn’t the first time they tried to sell out and won’t be the last.

    5. big fan of the idea of slaughterhouse and thought “move on” and others were great but I have not been very impressed with what i’ve heard from Slaughterhouse so far. is 200k the first week possible?

      1. Why do you care how many units is sells first week?

If you like it, you like it…

I don’t get this obsession with sales results.

      2. 600,000 FIRST WEEK YOU CUNTS

4 x 100,000 LAUGHTERHOUSE ‘RIDERS’ EVEN THO’ THEY’RE BUMS WHO MAKE GARBGE MUSIC

        1 x 150,000 EM STANS EVEN THOUGH HE’S A DOGSHIT PRODUCER

50,000 HAMMER DANCERS WHO CAN’T STOP WON’T STOP

EAT A DICK AND A FOUR BAGS OF WHITE CASTLE FOR JOELL

      1. If the world needs ANY more records or freestyles or ‘fashion shoots’ from whiny turtle voiced Joell Ortiz, how come nobody is willing to pay for them?

I don’t like Action Bronson’s music but at least that dude does shit his way without excuses.

These dipshits tried EVERYTHING to ‘sell out’ and have still failed miserably.

        HAMMER DANCE!!!

    6. like them both but its like its Slaughterhouse w/ Eminem it was good he signed them but he should’ve let them do their thing. Eminem’s production is weak rememeber that tupac album

      1. Young Buck – Lose My Mind
        Xzibit – Don’t Approach Me
        Xzibit – My Name
        Jay-Z – Renegade
        Jay-Z – Moment of Clarity
        Nas – The Cross
        Eminem – Till I Collapse
        Eminem – Soldier
        50 Cent – Patiently Waiting
        Obie Trice’s debut album
Trick Trick – Welcome 2 Detroit”

        weak producer?

      2. First Anonymous’ list is about right.. Em isn’t exactly weak on the boards.

Renegade was actually just on Jay’s album.. It was originally intended for Royce and Em to spit on..

It’s not Jay ft Em or Em ft Jay.. The true artist title for the song is Jay-Z & Eminem.. it’s a collab not a feature.

    7. Well, if Em can gift Royce a gold plaque like he did last year on Bad Meets Evil, these guys could be well on their way to the same I think. It’s just a shame that no one checks for these guys when Em isn’t around. Royce’s Success is Certain is a perfect example. Bad Meets Evil reached gold quick, but when Royce dropped his solo no one bought it.

    8. hip hop? bitch please… Pop Music needs Laughterhouse’s album… lmao fuck dis pop shit… YMCMB represent real hip hop…
PS. hip hop is for black men! fuck you white cracka. swag

      1. I had to rub my eyes and read again to make sure I wasn’t seeing things..You are a waste of oxygen. You are everything wrong in this world. Has YMCMB collectively fucked the inside of your mouth so hard that all that semen has clouded your brain? Die.

      2. YMCMB real hip-hop???? Bahaha…I find the “Hip-hop for Black men” even more funny considering one of the first trio’s in the game was all white dudes (Beastie Boys) and one the most prominent producers from the beginning was white also (Rick Rueben)…Know your history!

    9. Hip-Hop doesn’t need yet another Boom Bap wannabe album where all the artists do is talk shit for 14 tracks in a row. Lyrical wordplay or not if there’s nothing being said no one cares. YMCMB is Guilty of doing nothing but spew out records about:Money, Women, Sex, Smoking Weed, and “we’re the best.” Slaughterhouse’s album is gonna be all punchlines, bragging and wordplay with no substance. In the end its not much better. Especially since it’ll be done over Boi-1da beats…

      1. @Anon Yeah like 1 song. We’re in the era of the concept album bro. If you have nothing to say then you get no attention. You have your sellouts that will always chart, then you have people who put out albums that have an agenda. Slaughterhouse’s album will sound more like a mixtape.

      2. no really, where was your advance listening session located at, was it on the north end of shut the fuck up street? god damn will you wait until their shit drops, mr. professional

    10. I Like the song shit was dope to me i just think yall niggas that was former fans wanna backout cause they got a album coming yall niggas don’t deserve to be in this hip hop game

      1. no the nigga had security backing him up so I couldn’t touch him they threw me out of the joint

      2. So u havent seen him ever since then? U are gay fareal though. No man would slap me in the face and go free

      3. @Anonymous What breed of idiot are you? The nigga said dude had security. Security in clubs are usually the beefy dudes who even though they’re somewhat strong, they still act like bitches and gang up on one person even if it’s some minor shit. You go be a hero and fight a group of swoll dudes, come back looking like Uncle Ruckus and shit SMH

      4. If you’re being serious, then I’ll just say this:

You’re still holding a grudge against Crooked I after 14 years? God, dude. Grow up & get over it.

      5. ^ I ain’t trolling shit is serious he did a show in the LBC I saw him after and called him a bitch nigga and he slapped me.

      6. “So u havent seen him ever since then?”

Do you think I see this nigga everyday? I don’t even know where he lives

    11. IF IT IS ABOUT SOLID PRODUCTIONS AND HARD LYRICS I CAN AGREE – “HIP-HOP” NEEDS THIS.

OF COURSE IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THIS ALBUM AND THEIR SINGLE-RELEASES ARE GOING TO DO AGAINST THE SUCCESFUL BULLSHITRAPS IN THE CHARTS.

THE HYPE THEY CREATED OVER THE LAST YEARS COMES FROM LYRICAL SKILLS. IT MIGHT DO HIP-HOP GOOD; BUT HIP-HOP DONT NEED SLAUGHTERHOUSE.

    12. I was quite skeptical of dropping a comment since the posts are infested with nut hugging YMCB fans….but fuck it somebody gota say it… they got gutta gutta that voids any discussion automatically that they are real hip hop… but going back to the topic at hand these guys are lyrically gifted all of em and the only reason they are not going to sell is because we living in the era of ignorance where muthafuckas can make retarded songs for a retarded audience… anyone listen to “my homies still” by big sean and lil wayne lol that shit is trash and is a mega hit no way slaughterhouse is gonna dominate with real rap.

      1. DIPSHIT USING A LOT OF WORDS (TOO MANY) IN EVERY SONG DOESN’T MAKE YOU “LYRICAL”…

COMPARE ANY LAUGHTERHOUSE SONG TO BIGGIE “WARNING”

      2. wtf are you talking about by too many words… just cause you dropped out of high school in the 9th grade and still wasn’t able to sharpen up your vocabulary by reading books and became a fucking moron with no common sense what so ever dosen’t mean that niggas need to dumb down their music so your brain dead basic vocabulary depraved mind can comprehend with it lol son just stop it…I can see you just a hater out of denial and frustration just try to decipher the bars out of the education connect commercial and just maybe dial up that number while you at it who knows you might get a future out if but yojust maybe don’t take my word on that tho lol

    13. Some of you act as if the stuff that’s out now is good and SH is the turd in punch bowl.
I wish Em or whoever does the promo got a couple of radio DJ’s on payroll, and started putting up banners on all hip hop sites so it would catch on. That’s how garbage artists get in people’s heads I hate it but obviously it works, but at the same time we would get tired of that even if it was masterpiece. Collectively these are the most skilled mc’s out in while I hear how wack they are but the comments never mention somebody better unless maybe they feel that themselves are probably better.

    14. Pop Tracks?! Have all of you people even heard any the Slaughterhouse projects in the past?! I haven’t heard one “Pop” track from them. Yall must got them confused with a rock group with the same name or somethin. 😐

    15. MAN! You guys act like all the MC’s that are bigger than these Slaughterhouse dudes were never underground at one point. Slaughterhouse is being judged like everybody else- on talent, impact and appeal. People didn’t wake up and decide to just hate them for no reason or run away from them because of lyrics. Hip-Hop has had superstars in all it’s categories. Stop making excuses for them.

      1. so basically you are saying because somebody made it big mainstream they must of had one of those three attributes. talent, impact and appeal… so you consider impact and appeal two different attributes that an artist must bejudged on… how you gonna have impact if you can’t appeal to somebody??? yo the reason why people want slaughterhouse to succeed is because they embodied what true hip hop fans hold dear and that is lyricism and songwriting with substance we don’t give a fuck about how they appeal to the masses and im I mean what is Impact nowadays anyway it is nothing but anything that generates some sort of commotion, fucking soulja boy had impact. So slaughtherhouse freestyle on the B.E.T awards generated no impact what so ever??? even tho that was what everybody was talking about afterwards… come on man the truth is the majority of people don’t care about lyricism or being real or even being down to earth all you got to have is maybachs and gucci shoes and stacks of cash on deck… wack niggas who have zero amount of talent can run the game look at 2 chainz lol… fuck impact cash out got impact is he better than anybody on slaughterhouse??? be honest there is no reason to hate slaughterhouse other then you are tired from hearing from them but what does that mean LOL nothing.

      2. LOTS of people mocked or ignored these bums when they were solo and then a fake Kock supergroup…

Sucked then, and suck worse now trying to lick Marshall and Jimmy’s asses.

Marshall WILL pay for this foolishness, just wait!!

    16. “but when Royce dropped his solo no one bought it”

Didn’t help it was going for $7.99 the first week it came out.

      1. *CORRECTION: when Royce dropped “Success Is Certain”, it sold 24k first week…outbeating sorry acts like wacka flocka.

      1. Not even Joell’s fake crackhead mother with the blown out cunt (you try fitting that fat fuck outta there!!) don’t believe that…

Whiny turtle voice bullshit over cornball beats, yah that’s great.

Q: Why did Joell suck so badly on “Apollo Kids”?

      2. WHY THE FUCK DOES JOELL ORTIZ LAUGH AT HIS OWN BULLSHIT ‘PUNCHLINES’??

        SO WE KNOW THEY’RE “FUNNY”??

    17. Slaughterhouse’s album is gonna be all punchlines, bragging and wordplay with no substance.
      ^
      As opposed to what?

    18. not looking forward to this album much, eminem is a horrible manager to be honest. Yelawolf suffered because of it with his album which was average at best and slaughterhouse will do the same. I just hope that his verses on the album aren’t as bad as the yelawolf verse

    19. It’s sad that every time DX posts something about Slaughterhouse, you know there’s gonna be niggas like Anonymous and So ICY BOI on here talkin shit, y’all niggas need to get a life. Slaughterhouse haters never EVER have a legitimate reason for not liking them. There really are none. Slaughterhouse is the truth and the only reason people hate is because they know what they’re capable of and what this album could do. I’ll say 400K first week. Sounds about right.

      1. “I’ll say 400K first week”

Let’s keep it real around here. These dudes don’t have that buzz. I would say 190K or something.

      2. I doubt even Eminem would do 400k first week in this day. U are smoking too much crack if u think slaughterhouse will sell 400k in a single week. Gtfoh faggot

      3. Coming from a Slaughterhouse fan, I can tell you right now that they won’t sell 400K in the 1st week. I’ll honestly be surprised if they even sell over 100K in the 1st week. But that’s just me. If the album turns out to be really good, I’ll go out & buy it. Either on the 1st day or sometime that week. We’ll see.

And to Anonymous #2: Recovery sold 741,000 in it’s 1st week over 2 years ago & I believe it’s sold more than 6,000,000 records worldwide since then. I’m not exactly sure, but to be able to sell that many records in an era where everyone pirates Rap albums is crazy as hell.

    20. Niggaz ride Em’s dick way too hard B, muthafuckas act like that nigga invented hip hop or some shit. The dude can spit no doubt, but to put him ahead of cats like Rakim,KRS 1, Big L, Biggie, Pac, Pun….that shit is just takin it way too fuckin far

    21. eminem is washed up soulless faggot. hes still performing because he’s a money making machine, coke can’t go out of business. he’s going to be embarrassing himself performing until he’s dead. his label is counting on it. can’t believe eminem the guy who came up battling writing about real shit is asking pink if she wants him on her album. thats what the industry will do. rob your spirit break your will and pimp you out. even elvis got broke. em is done.

    22. Eminem’s success won’t be discredited because of him not being as popular anymore, and what i mean by that i’m talking about str8 running the game for a year at a time, 00-02. Eminem>>>Knaye, jay-z, wayne, and even rick ross( right now) b/c ross raps about the same shit.

    23. Eminem keep loosin. lmao dis old ass nigga is a fuckin pop-rapper, pop singer… his label is pop too. Faggothouse is da biggest poprap band ever… lmao. Weezy makin real hip hop muzik and SELLS MORE RECORDS den dis wigger. LIL WAYNE DA GOAT! YMCMB=BETTER LYRICS, BETTER DANCE-ABLE BEATS, BETTER CLOTHES AND SEXIER SINGERS. swag

      1. Same shit different day, don’t they increase your dose at the home? You need to be seriously jacked up son to get out of that jacket to type

      2. Shut up! IF I WANNA BE A FAG I WILL! NOT MY FAULT I’M A FAT VIRGIN WHO DOESN’T GET OUT THE HOUSE. SWAG!!!

    24. most of these rappers aint real niggas. Word, Nas bankrupt never was a drug runner, Lil Wayne aint no blood, Jeezy aint no BMF, 50 a snitch, Game a stripper, 2pac a ballerina. None of these niggas real you guys. If they was all real they all be dead now. Like it or not Ross is the new biggie.

      BAWSE!!!!!

      1. Ross used to be a officer. He’s the fakest of all!

Also, 2-Pac never hid from his past, he was as real as they get!

      2. this dude has a cheese burger and officer rickys nuts in his mouth. Taste the cheese bitch. FUCK OFFICER RICK YA DIGG FOOL WHAT YA MEAN

    25. The doctor running this game directly and indirectly for 25 years. Credit where credit is due, longevity in any buisness deserves respect, but to constantly be in and about (only saying that for him slightly focusing attention elsewhere the past 2 or 3 years) the top of the top shows what a legend is. Can’t wait for this lp (i could go on but im sure im boring you all now)!

    26. if you’re looking forward to this album, then you’re one of the following:
      -nerd
      -backpacker
-unemployed nigga who still lives in his mom’s basement
      -stuck in the 90s
      -ymcmb hater
      -a virgin
      -bullied a lot in school
      -old ass nigga

and there seems to be a LOT of you guys on here. if this album doesn’t go gold in its first week THEN SLAUGHTERHOUSE AND ALL YOU FUCKIN PURISTS LOST! y’all gonna start crying wondering why their sales are so low and give us that “sales don’t matter. quality>quantity” bullshit. all you fucking elitists make me sick.

      1. I didn’t try to spell “i’m”. I was referring to you! Don’t worry virgin, one day you’ll get a girl.

      2. “if this album doesn’t go gold in its first week THEN SLAUGHTERHOUSE AND ALL YOU FUCKIN PURISTS LOST”

^ Ross didn’t go gold in a week, neither did Stalley, Wale, Tyga, Nicki or the ‘Self Made’ compilation…

      3. “by the way i love the dick!”

typed by another gay ass eminem stan posing as me.

and slaughterhouse would be lucky enough to pass tyga’s first week sales. they for sure won’t pass self made. don’t care much for stalley but his album hasn’t come out yet. not sure why you’re mentioning him.

      4. Damnnn, the first youngsta stole my name, he’s fake as fuck. im the real one, and im practically all he said. oh wait, I really am him! stupid mistake, sometimes I get schizophrenic, it’s cause my two dads droppes me a lot as a baby ^^. I never grew up too, still as small as a baby, shitting my pants over the featherlicker, birdman. guess im just lil, like my mother, lil wayne, who left me because I turned out a disgrace. he saw me when I was born and he/she thought i was so ugly he didn’t wanted nothin to do with me. and that for a lil guy who changes his voice, fills his body with tattoos to cover the ugglyness. guess I’m just straightup ugly. Peacocks don’t show me their feathers when they see me, they just laugh, i’m that ugly

    27. Bro just shut the fuck up u sound real dumb …so your telling me that people who like quality music and aren’t ignorant sheep who listen to garbage on the radio are all those things? So ignorant

      1. i didn’t say all of those things. i said one of the following. read again fucker, and you probably fall under one of the things i listed, so don’t front because i’m telling the truth. and try hitting the reply button next time pussy.

      2. anyway I know i’m looking pretty stupid right now, so i’m gonna quit. I’m sorry to all for being a silly little fag.

    28. Stupid clown Em is still lyrical better then most guys out there …he’s known across music and world keep hating and speaking nonsense

      1. but i’d still marry his handsome ass!!! I bet he’s long & thick. Damn i’m getting all hard just thinking about it!

      1. I’m so confused right now. I wanna be a hater, but at the same time I love Em so much. Someone help me please.

    29. Em, seriously? I hope he doesn’t do drugs again – these guys are fucking disgrace for hip hop, I hardly ever heard any of them spit at least decent verse, maybe Crooked I verse on DJ Drama’s album or some Royce verses from Hell the sequel, they are just four most unsuccessful rapper ever, Crooked I been rappin’ since 1995, still has no studio album, Joell Ortiz is the worst rapper of all time, calling himself “Free agent” because nobody ever wanted to sign him, Royce constantly gest overshined by Eminem on all his tracks and he’s a clown, why the hell he titled his last album “Success is certain”? what success? selling 50k copies? get the hell out the game, please, Joe Budden is the only one who can spit when he tries hard, but after his debut album he fell off

and it’s not even funny, I’m sorry for these guys, their album will flop so bad, having problems sell over 100k copies overall, like their last album, at least, Em can pick decent beats, but these four clowns will suck lyrically forever

      1. sid: Lol I don’t know if he is a troll, but if yes, the sad thing is that some of his statements are actually true

tro(ll): I don’t like slaughterhouse and I think they will flop too, but definetely they are not “disgrace for hip-hop” and Joell Ortiz is nowhere close to be worst of all time (neither to be greatest, not even in top 50, but not the worst
if these guys are disgrace, what do you think about that ones like Soulja Boy, OJ da Juiceman, Gucci Mane, etc.?

    30. in two years these niggas will be either broke, dead or in prison, they are irrelevant, will flop, but it does not matter eminem will take most of their money anyway lke baby do

    31. lol, the amount of haters on this page is unreal, nearly every comment states that Eminem is shit and overrated, then why the fuck did you click to hear and see the interview lol, Eminem started in battle rap and made a few Eps and one album and lucky enough he got noticed for his talent like near enough every rapper thats been in the game for the last 15 years and more, and he is one of the greatest hes an urban dictionary that exploits words to there fullest. Stop hating and support dam. They are all gifted rappers no doubt and the songs they have released are sick. You wanted hits and you got hits you wanted underground you got given underground theres just no pleasing. Keep doing your thing slaughterhouse & Em

    32. my name is so icy boi ….sry for that new name but all these people hatin on me I couldnt survive that any longer and now I go sleep and dream of birdmans dick

    33. hate on slaughter all you want truth is their raw lyrical genius’s and are what real hip hop should still be about

      1. YOU TRIPPIN, NONE OF FLOPHOUSE RAPPERS ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BE LYRICAL GENIUS, THEY ARE BROKE AND HAVE NO TALENT, THEY BETTER HOLD EMINEM DICK INSTEAD OF MIC

      1. Ross completely denied being a CO when the rumors came out, then got caught lying when hard evidence became public, and then spun it on his next album rapping about how he was actually a gangsta CO the entire time.

You can like and defend his music but it doesn’t change that he’s the most enormous phony in the history of rap. Hip-hop used to sort of be about talking about real things, but it has all been muddled and corrupted up to guys like Ross who are corporate-packaged TV wrestling personalities dressed up as drug dealing gangstas to sell CDs and tickets to white teenagers who spend the money.

If you can defend that part, let me know. I just don’t see the appeal in indulging into any joints by a corporate-packaged fake like Ross rapping about being a drug trafficker and whatever no matter how good the music is.

    34. “when Royce dropped “Success Is Certain”, it sold 24k first week…outbeating sorry acts like wacka flocka”

      And that’s an accomplishment?

    35. i cant belive half of you retards on this reply most of you have no idea what real rap is real rap is long gone em is one of the only real rappers left along with tech n9ne brotha lench x raided and a few other so just shut the fuck up and quit winning apreciate a new song and if ya dont like the person dont listen i dont listen to little wanyne cuz he’s a fake gangster but i dont tell you to not listen to him i just personally wont

    36. I am the real youngsta damn younguns tried to replicate truenig I is the boss, and the boss says EM is the greatest
