These Top Singles lists are not rigged. Not even a little bit. Whatever shows up on in our stats on Friday afternoon is posted right here on Saturday morning. Why is that an important disclaimer to share? Well, because when a track leaks on a Thursday night and hits the top of the charts in less than 24 hours, it’s our readers who put it there, not us. It’s a true testament to the power certain artists have in Hip Hop – espeically paired with another powerful artist. This week it’s all about the power circles in Rap (as you’ll see below). Read on to see who made the cut.

Nas and Rick Ross Make Hits, We Miss Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel’s Friendship

On Thursday, another one of Nas’Life Is Good tracks leaked. This time it was “Accident Murders.” Flanked by MMG kingpin Rick Ross, the track tore up the charts this week, jumping right to the #1 spot. The glaring grammatical error in the title took a backseat to the sound of the track. Meanwhile, last Sunday was Father’s Day and in DX tradition we posted some tracks inspired by the holiday. Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel’s “Where Have You Been” was one of them, and that made the list at #5. No matter how much time has passed, Roc fans still feel the nostalgia when hearing these two together. Cue “What We Do” with Freeway.

Crooked I’s Pslams Take Us To Church, MMG Leaks Continue

At #2 this week, we had Nas and Rick Ross again, only this time it was off Rick Ross & Co’s Self Made Vol. 2 from Maybach Music Group. The song, “This Thing Of Ours” takes a mafia-esque title as the English translation to the Italian Mob’s motto “La Cosa Nostra.” More MMG madness ensued at #8, with Triple Cs’ Gunplay in the lead on the top singles repeat “Power Circle.” Another power circle is Slaughterhouse, and Crooked I stands at the heart of it. Crooked finally dropped his Psalm 82:V6 mixtape, and getting Rick Ross on “Real N*ggaz” proved useful as Crooked I, Rawse and Freeway hooked up the #4 slot. Crooked showed up at #7 and also #9, along with Ras Kass and Kurupt on “3 The Hard Way.”
