For nearly three decades now, the Disco Mix Club – or DMC for short – has been hosting its annual series of World DJ Championships. Now, this Saturday June 23, the DMC will be hosting two DJ battles that will act as precursors to their US Finals Battle and Battle for World Supremacy.
According to a recent press release, the DMC will be hosting its NYC Regional DJ Battle and Battle for US Supremacy at Le Poisson Rouge in New York. Presented by Rane and Serato, the event will be hosted by the legendary Lord Finesse and will feature Bay Area turntablists Eddie Def and DJ Cue on the one’s and two’s.
The NYC Regional DJ Battle will find DJs duking it out for the chance to represent New York in the DMC US Finals Battle on August 4. The winner of this US Finals Battle will continue on to take part in the 2012 DMC World DJ Championships in London with the US contender.
Following the Regional Battle, the Battle for US Supremacy will pit tuntablists head-to-head vinyl only battle for the chance to represent the States in the DMC Battle for World Supremacy on September 27 in London.

In addition, the DMC announced the winners of its US DJ Team Battle and Puerto Rico Nation Finals Battle. The crew BattleStar Massive took home first place in the Team Battle, while DJ Sonar came out the winner in the Puerto Rico Finals Battle.
The NYC Regional DJ Battle and Battle for US Supremacy begin at 2 PM and will end at 9:30 PM. Tickets for the event can be purchased online for $15 or $20 at the door.
