In a month that’s seen some of the most taked-about Hip Hop releases in years, very few of them have been of the free mixtape variety. Gulfport, Mississippi’s Tito Lopez is still said to be releasing his The Hunger Games later this week, which could end the drought at “freetail.” Whether or not that happens, this week may likely see mixtapes from two other G-Unit affiliates in Shawty Lo and 40 Glocc (a/k/a Big Bad 40).
CTE’s Scrilla, former DTP rapper Shawnna and onetime D-Block affiliate J-Hood are also on the horizon. Perhaps the free album stream, as seen with Big K.R.I.T.’s Live From The Underground, Curren$y’s The Stoned Immaculate and SpaceGhostPurrp’s Space Phonk: The Chronicles Of SpaceGhostPurrp have been the new promotional vehicle of choice in 2012?
