It’s honestly been a while since the album releases trumped the mixtape releases. While most consumers would love some free music in the form of mixtapes, knowing they have to show up to their retailers or digi-stores to buy quality albums still means something, especially in Hip Hop. Today we get some big albums, like Big K.R.I.T.’sLive From the Underground, along with Curren$y’sThe Stoned Immaculate. Both come highly anticipated, but there are also some more options like One Be Lo’sK.I.C.K. P.U.S.H. and Oh No’sOhnomite, along with the Dubstep meets Rap combo of Cypress Hill and Rusko’s Cypressxrusko EP. Smoke DZA announced that Rugby Thompson is coming on June 19th, plus Alchemist’sRussian Roulette is coming July 17th, and it’s already shaping up to be a classic.

The biggest news this week, though, is that Jay-Z and Kanye West plan to revisit their Watch the Throne title with a Part 2. No word yet on when that will happen, but it’s more than likely going to follow Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music compilation, Cruel Summer. Outkast fans will be pleased to know that Big Boi has a title for his next solo album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. No set date yet, but it does bring up a bigger a point: Where’s Andre3000’s album? Well, Big Boi says as soon as his album drops (it’s about 80% done) then Mr. Benjamin will drop his solo. Hopefully once they get their solo albums released we can get that Outkast album we’ve been waiting for.
