2 Chainz recently popped up on the G.O.O.D. Music single “Mercy,” but Kanye West returned the favor by appearing with the rapper on BET’s “106 & Park” earlier today. During his walk-on, Tity Boi brought out Yeezy, who stood silently throughout the interview.
“First of all, I’d like to say it’s a blessing to be on the track with all those guys at one time,” he said of West. “Let me introduce the genius behind it. Because I’m tired of explaining it.”
He brought out Kanye, who stood by his side and merely smiled at hosts Rocsi and Terrence J. 2 Chainz did the talking, confirming that ‘Ye will contribute to his Def Jam debut Based on a T.R.U. Story, releasing August 14th.
“First of all, I feel like Kanye is the best producer in the world. The way that he describes things, the way that he sees things is different from anyone else. It’s an honor. It’s a pleasure to just be in the studio with him at the same time, and just clashing worlds. My background, my resume is filled with street credibility music, trap rap. He kind of brings his colors and images to what I’m doing. So he’ll definitely be a part of my project, dropping August 14th, Based on a T.R.U. Story.”

2 Chainz also explained how Kanye has influenced him, stating that the world needs more rappers like him who will speak their minds.
“We need more Kanyes. He really speaks how he feels. A lot of things that I want to say, I don’t feel I’m in a position or have a right or platform to say it,” he said. “It just feels good for him to have the mental capacity to know when to tap into urban America, when to cross over, when to take it overseas. He just has the ability to do so many things, and he’s just including me in the equation. I just feel blessed, man.”
