For a while the mixtape world was shaking the album release world, providing new tapes to look forward to over shelved albums and trashed projects. While the mixtapes coming are exciting, they’re not as thrilling as the albums we’ve got coming. Fear not though, surprises are always bound to come.
Today, Yung Berg and Mia Rey drop Mikkey & Mallory, hosted by DJ Smallz and DJ Whoo Kid. For a while there, Berg had no female counterpart announced for this project. Good to know he has one. One track that surfaced so far was “Put It On Ya.” Good to know in spite of everything else, Berg is still trucking along. Today also marks the release of YG & DJ Mustard’s 4 Hunnid Degreez. Tomorrow (March 27th) we get Trouble’s 431 Days and the Mick Boogie and Slum Village collaboration Dirty Slums. Another new entry is Jahlil Beats’ Legend Season arriving March 29th.
Limbo Land has a few prospects as well. Just last week Swizz Beatz dropped off an araabMUZIK produced cut called “Street Knock” featuring A$AP Rocky. The track is off Swizzy’s forthcoming mixtape titled Limitless. Hey, whatever happened to Haute Living? Still waiting on dates for some others like Jon Connor’s The Best In the World, Fashawn’s Champagne and Styrofoam Cups, Crooked I’s Psalm 82:6, and Game’s recently titled California Republic.
