In May 2011, Frank Ocean announced that a seven-track version of his breakout mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra would release in the summer, though the EP failed to materialize. Now, the Odd Future crooner has confirmed that the project, referred to as Nostalgia, Lite, will not be released.

“‘Nostalgia, Lite.’ is never coming out,” he wrote on his Tumblr page. “Hahaha. What I look like a year later re-releasing my last album? Not icey. Bitch I’m icey.”

He also explained that the announcement was intended to clear up any misconceptions about the EP’s release. “Only saying that for my journalist/blogger friends. i know my icey-ness is obvious,” he continued.

Christopher Breaux is currently prepping the release of his Def Jam debut this spring, and that there are no hard feelings for previous issues with his label. “[It felt like Def Jam was] signing a kid with dreams and talent with no intention of following through,” he said. “[But now] we’re cool. There is a new album coming. I’m super proud of it.”
