Mannie Fresh has been one of the key players on the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, which he says is nearing completion. During an interview with MTV News, the rapper/producer said that the songs are all over the place thematically, but that it’s a strong mix of everything.

“It’s pretty close, I would say it’s pretty close,” he said. “Songs phenomenal, everything. It’s an album that’s all over the place, it’s not just one thing. It’s not just that you’re gonna hear some Southern hip-hop or whatever. You’re gonna hear everything.”

Mannie, who said that he connected with Kanye West after showing up at a “Watch the Throne” performance, played him a handful of beats. ‘Ye then decided to include him in the project, which he considers an honor.

“The cool thing about G.O.O.D. Music is it’s a bunch of great ideas and I’m one of those ideas,” he continued. “[Kanye’s] trying to find the most talented producers, most talented artists, put ’em all in a room and say, ‘Go for it. Y’all energy, like whatever is creative to y’all.'”
