After Diddy named “My Downfall” as his favorite song on Life After Death, DJ Clark Kent is widening the scope and picking his top song by The Notorious B.I.G. During an interview with MTV News‘ Sway Calloway, the veteran producer revealed that his favorite Biggie cut is “Unbelievable,” the R. Kelly-sampling cut produced by DJ Premier.
“It’s not about the sample. It’s about I’m an extremely Brooklyn-centered guy, and that record is so hard. The rhymes were so hard and the beat was so hard, and he took R. Kelly’s song and made it a hook. How do you take something that pretty, put it on a beat that hard and then rhyme crazy and it comes out that perfect? The rhymes were out of this world. And the records that I loved the most from Big were the records with the best rhymes, and those rhymes were just out of this world.”

For me its ‘i love the dough’, but unbelievable would be up there
My favourite would also have to be “unbelievable” but Biggie had so many hot songs on that album, and I’m kinda surprised Dj Premier produced that hot beat, it really doesn’t sound like him, at the time primo had a signature sound that was very detectable plus I think that’s the track biggie paid peanuts for I think it was $5,000 or something.

Very good choice by a great producer, for me it’s definitely between this and machine gun funk! But some more info on the song, Premier said it was Big who came up with the idea for the R. Kelly sample which just makes this even that much better!
