T.I. Speaks On Working With Dr. Dre For New Mixtape

T.I. recently released the second trailer for his upcoming mixtape Fuck Da City Up, dropping New Year’s Day, and included footage of him in the studio with Dr. Dre. Speaking with MTV News, Tip said that the two were “creating chemistry” for the tape and that he wants to work closer with the West Coast veteran.

“Dre was here. He sent for me over to the spot. We really just turned up more than anything else. It was about creating chemistry,” he said.

T.I. previously worked with Dre on the song “Topless,” leaked several years ago and supposedly intended for Detox. For now, he’s intent on developing their working relationship.

“Of course we can get together, he got hot beats and I got dope rhymes, so we can always get together and make music,” he continued. “But for people to feel what we’re sayin’ and for it to sound like a party comin’ through your speakers, you gonna have to create some chemistry. So that’s what we spent more time doin’ than anything else; developing that chemistry.”

    1. If anyone clicks these Mtv’s videos and gets “Sorry, we’re unable to offer this videos to viewers in you region” and knows how to somehow watch these videos can they reply and let me know how

    2. I can’t describe how happy I am that Tip is working with Dre…..this is one of my dream collaborations for T.I. I’ve heard Topless and some other supposed Detox leaks, but this is a great decision for T.I. I’m excited to see how this Fuckdacityup mixtape turns out!

      1. Game had Dre beats on Purp and Patron, and he orignally was going to have Dre beats but decided to go with Mars of 1500 or Nothing

      2. The track Game did wit’ Ashanti on the Purp & Patron mixtape called Soft Rhodes was a Dr Dre beat and was produced by him, there was even pics flyin’ about the net’ of Game, Dre & Ashanti in the studio together making the track, mentioned above.

      3. 50 centr has had dre beats on all his albums! and do you really remember any of them????nigga’s produce as good or better than dre

    3. actually getting beats from dr dre is a rare thing game was one of the only ones to get proper beats from dre for his mixtape,it becomes special when he gives beats

    4. funny thing is the R.E.D album has only sold 206k in the US and 1 mill worldwide. He needs to get bak to working wit dre to start destroying his rival Lil Wayne.

    5. ****KNOW YOUR HIP HOP HISTORY*****
Question: Who was the 1st west coast artist that Russell Simmons signed to Def Jam?
      Answer: Mel-low (Compton, CA)
Here’s a Def Jam classic music video.
Mel-low feat Redman “Blaze It Up”
This was the very first Def Jam video to be banned from playing on BET and MTV.

    6. I just don’t understand why ma fuckers be on Games dick every now and then FACT his album is arguably the best out this yr. As for TI working with Dre that’s what hip hop needs. A lot of junk is being pushed on mainstream. And if u don’t like what i’m saying FUCK U TOO and eat a bowl of garlic marinated dicks…

      1. arguably the best out this year? not even close you must be a game fan and not a hiphop fan to many albums that are better than red.i mean if you like copy cat flows then its all good

      2. U da fuckin’ stupid U da fuckin’ stupid Game’s album is bullshit!!! he made people wait and his mixtapes was way better than the album all he does on that album is sucking Wayne’s dick!

      3. naw not at all. i’m a game fan, and even i will say that bullshit excuse for an album isn’t even in my top 5 albums of this year. with that album it seemed like game was more focused on working with artists just for their names rather than collab with ’em to make good music for the most part that album was bullshit, there’s a few good tracks but that’s about it. i listened to it the week it came out.. havn’t touched it since.

    7. Wow and Dre lack’s inspiration for Detox and he’s working on a mixtape wit T.I. What the Fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

    8. DR Dre narrated game album…dre never did that for anyone in rap history and he was rapping on the album..u nigga’s is crazy! a dre beat dont mean a damn thing…eminem had 1 dre beat on recovery! all these niggas is good wit dre

      1. eminem is even tighter with Dre.. that’s a weak example. it’s not that Dre’s hard to get, but he doesn’t get around that much either, plus it doesn’t seem he’s all into the studio no more with Detox on ice.. he’s good with niggas like Kendrick Lamar, Snoop and others, but it’s still a reach to see him in action, especially with his “I’M TAKIN A BREAK FROM MUSIC” shit
