Weeks like these are always really great for HipHopDX’s Top Singles list. Albums dropping have all leaked, so sadly everyone on the internet isn’t really checking for new songs when they’re already in rotation on their iTunes. Times like this allow for a variety of artists to show face and broaden some horizons. While alot of the artists this week haven’t totally been M.I.A., some have. They’re back now (or for the time being), and while they’re here, we might as well enjoy their new music. A few artists doubled (and tripled) up on the list this week, but there is still plenty to choose from. Oh and for the record, we don’t condone downloading leaked albums unless you plan on buying them when they drop. Okay, Public Service Announcement complete; on with the show.

Young Jeezy Shows Up, But So Do Lil Wayne, 2Chainz, and Andre3000

Over the past two weeks, Young Jeezy ran the show. His TM103 tracks were out of control, as almost the entire project leaked. They all did in a way, considering the album snippets arrived this week (listen here) and made it to #8 on our list. However, other cuts managed to creep into the list as well. “Supafreak” with 2Chainz grabbed the #6 spot, while his cut with Jay-Z and Andre3000 “I Do” closed the list at #10. A few of the aforementioned appeared on multiple tracks this week. 2Chainz jumped on board with David Banner and Lil Wayne for “Yao Ming” at #5, while Andre3000 also walked in at #2 on Ke$ha’s “Sleazy” remix that featured everyone from Wiz Khalifa, to T.I. and once again Lil Wayne. Weezy was all over this list this week. Most importantly, though, he was part of the #1 track, “Original” alongside Birdman. The track is by Mystikal. Yes, that Mystikal. Want to know more? Mytikal Is a Cash Money Billionaire, Lupe Fiasco Is an American Terrorist

Who said there are no such things as second chances? After serving time in prison for over half a decade, Mystikal was released and went right back into the studio. He opened 2011 with a track “That Woman” and appeared on some other cuts, most recently Trae The Truth’s “All That I Know” with Tech N9ne and Brian Angel. This week it was announced that Mystikal signed with Cash Money. The former No Limit soldier made the huge crew leap, and with it came a brand new single “Original.” The track features Cash Money’s kingpin Birdman and Young Money’s kingpin Lil Wayne. Having both of your bosses on one track is quite the introduction, and it’s no wonder that the song landed right at the top spot this week. So Mystikal at #1, Ke$ha at #2. Who rounded out that trifecta? Lupe Fiasco. Last weekend he released the song “American Terrorist III,” proving his antics just don’t stop. We love it though.
