Black Star Release “Fix Up,” Announce “Top Secret Aretha Franklin Mixtape”

The combination of Mos Def and Talib Kweli has somewhat changed since Mos’ name change to Yasiin Bey, but the duo is still working under the Black Star moniker. As the two continue to tour together, it is clear the group is as solid as ever. This morning, Black Star released “Fix Up,” a track produced by Madlib, and also released “You Already Knew” produced by Oh No, both from their upcoming mixtape Aretha.

Using Blackstarhub.com as a set up, the group released “Fix Up” to the ‘net earlier this morning. The song can now purchased on iTunes. “You Already Knew” was released to the site this afternoon.

“If y’all good Black Star will release a free song off our top secret Aretha Franklin mixtape today [too],” Talib said in his message to fans, before reposting the URL address for Black Star Hub.

The cover for “Fix Up” is pictured in this article. No additional details have been released regarding this “top secret” mixtape. More information will follow.

Furthermore, Black Star is going to be performing in New York and Los Angeles in December. Venues and ticket information can be found on Black Star Hub
