Rick Ross’ Fifth Album Sees Possible Delay, Features Jay-Z Collaboration

Rick Ross may have to delay the release of his fifth studio album due to setbacks from seizures that forced him to cancel shows last month.

“The date is still tentative, December 13,” he told MTV. “[Because of] my little health situation, I had to postpone a lot of my groundwork. And I feel like that’s important for artists like myself.”

Ross said that the album, titled God Forgives, I Don’t, may suffer the effects of minimal exposure if he does not delay the release.

“If I wanted to, I’m pretty sure I could still meet that date, but I think for the people, it’s more important [to lay groundwork] for when I get out there and look them in the face and touch them hands,” he explained. “We’ve just gotta lay ground for it, and I’mma keep y’all updated.”

In addition, the Maybach Music leader spoke on his collaboration with Jay-Z on a track that will make the album.

“Just expect the biggest collabo we’ve ever made together. It’s just gonna make the project mean that much more,” he said. “Any time me and the big homie get together, you know I’m coming with my A-game, ’cause I wanna make sure the homie is impressed with whatever I’m coming to the table with — and he was. He blessed me, so y’all get ready for it.”

Ross is currently promoting Maybach Music artist Wale’s sophomore effort Ambition, which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 200.

    1. If he delays it, the sales will be lower than if he just kept the original date. Use your head. People buy CD’s during Xmas. It’s a no brainer.

    2. hey yall imma be real right now…If some of you can explain to me why this dude get so much love from other artists…Drizzy, Wayne, Jay, Kanye all of dem be lovin this mofugga right here

      I just dont see it……….

      1. well it can be easily to discern, scratch a partner’s back will get yours scratched, maybe Ross really does deal coke LOL

my fascination is how fans stay interested in this guy point blank

      2. It might be because his albums do numbers, as well as his singles, his mixtapes (MMG artitsts included) do millions in downloads, and he has a huge loyal following. Not to mention Wale just dropped at number two on the charts. I guess what I’m trying to say is, real or fake (whichever you perceive him to be), he’s good for business

    3. A lot of artist claim to be “Hustlers” yet very few show this mentality. Take Jeezy – everyone talks how real he is and streets and all that but you compare him to Ross and i can see the hustle in Ross and not Jeezy…

      True Hustlers: Jay-Z, Diddy, Ross, T.I, 50

Fake Hustlers: Jeezy, The Whole NY Rap scene who cannot put themselves on

Just saying… Ross is on his hustle

      1. not true jeezy has the number one urban clothing line in america he also grossed more than ross last year with no album just mixtapes u are going solely off ur opinion and its pure bias

      2. no nigga jeezy shit is not owned by jay z and he always makes more money then ross every year… look at forbes ross is a gold nigga and barely that cause deeper than rap only sold 400,000 and teflon don only did 600,000 so jeezy the hustler not the cop.

    4. I think Def Jam might have caused it.. they got Jeezy coming out, so they cant have both. this beef situation will make one of them’s numbers to look bad. Def Jam dont want that.. its a smart move after all.. why you think Jimmy moved Game to Geffen when he was beefing with G-unit, its cos of things like this. you under one roof and bring the bread to that same roof it doesnt work.. anyways i would have kept my money for the Ross disc, but since they aint coming out the same time Ima hear Jeezy’s leak and if i like it i’l cop it.. for now lets go buy that Shady nigga Yelawolf’s Radioactive.. i heard the leak and its the bomb, best album to come out of the south 2011.. lets go

    5. HA HA HA HA HA HE WAS JUST SAYING OUR ALBUMS DONT GET PUSHED BACK AND HE PUTS OUT 2 WACK SONGS NO ONE LIKES AND THEY START WORRYING AND THEN COME UP WITH THIS EXCUSE TYPICAL FROM A FRAUD WHAT A LOOSER

      1. are you deaf or just stupid? he had seizures and that affected promotion? wtf did you just read? do you just hear what you want to hear or what?

      2. no dumbass he said ground work dats promo u fag meaning buzz i guess u cant read wit his nuts in ur face

    6. William Leonard Roberts II born January 28 1976 better known by his stage name Rick Ross is a manufactured gangsta rapper
He graduated high school went to college and spent a year at the historically black college Albany State University in Albany Georgia studying criminal justice
Then trained and passed as a CO William worked as a CO for 18 months
Had a clean record untill January 2008
Ross agreed to perform a wide range of correctional officer duties including shoot an inmate attempting to escape
These online hackers putting a picture of my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples body I’m in the entertainment business
I grew up in Carol City I went to the same Miami Carol City Senior High School as Rick Ross and Flo-Rida
The perception which Ross has put forth is that Carol City is the hood full of projects liquor stores gangs Carol City has one little section of low income housing the Matchbox Projects But I say Carol City is not the hood

    7. We have all met people who were dishonest and avoided eye contact. Many people know that their eyes betray their lies. Some try to conceal the truth by wearing sunglasses of looking down at the ground

JUST SO YOU KNOW.. REAL NIGGAS DON’T FOOL WIT THIS FRAUD UNLESS THE MONEY IS INVOLVED.

      1. wouldn’t that make them frauds as well. Last I checked real (N-WORDS) only eff with real (N-WORDS) regardless if money involved or not. Get ya mind right young’n…

    8. naw you fat muthafucka!!! release the album! you was just clownin jeezy about pushin back his album….oan get off Jay-z dick you overwieght Issac hayes lookin muhfucka lmao!

      1. look dumbass he said minimal exposure..meaning buzz he pushn it back for buzz asshole…stop suckn his di– and realize he is a fuckin hypocrite

      2. minimal exposure was as a result of his seizure, not being able to promote it…. stop twisting facts. and why you getting to angry? is it that serious to you? lol

    9. at the end of the day tm103 12/20 ft. jay z, eminem, andree 3000 and more jeezy 3 platinum albums….ross 3 gold albums and one brass so who would you choose…real street nigga or a cop that lies to you about everything

      1. another nigga who clearly cares about numbers but then say numbers dont mean shit when lil wayne sells a million in the first week

    10. i see yall boys still hurt that he lied to yall get the fuck over it we no dude fake dont no to many real rappers in the game

    11. HE MAKING SOME OF THE BEST MUSIC IN THE GAME N MAKING SOME BIG POWER MOVES U DUMB G-UNIT N JEEZY STANS THATS MAKING MULTIPLE COMMENTS UNDER NAMES CANT STOP ROSS LOOL GET OVER IT

    12. 10 years from now and I’m being generous when I say 10, most fans of Rick Ross, Drake, and all these cats that are out now are not going to admit to have ever been fans. Don’t believe me? How many people here were online defending Soulja Boy 4 to 5 years ago? OJ the juice man? Who was on here saying “you hater cuz Gucci mane richer than you”?

Point is what’s out now will get played and is stuck to these these times. You will find yourself asking yourself why you ever liked this shit instead of saying that’s my shit! then you’re going to dig up all the shit you slept on around this time.

      1. I’ll add 50 and Game and the all G-Unit to that list. People where even praisin Lloyd Banks lyricism back in 03 or something, where are they now ? Listen to the new Krs-One single (from his 20th studio album !) and see what relevance and longevity mean. Or even Sean Price, who came back from hell in the early 2000’s and keeps doing his thang

      2. da ppl defendin soula boy, gucci, etc etc were ppl who were uneducated and knew nothing about hip hop. ima alwayz b a fan of ross

      3. I’m a 50 Cent fan.
I’m also a huge Lloyd Banks fan and his lyricism still is raw as fuck.
And yeah, I enjoy Ross music too. I don’t say he’s the most lyrical fucker out there or anything, but the dude makes solid albums. C.O. or no C.O., “Teflon Don” was fucking sick.
And I’m no dick-rider, I love everything from “Reasonable Doubt” to “The Infamous” to “The Recession”, but the guy puts together good music.

I admit though, the two “God Forgives” tracks I’ve heard have been ehhh. The Just Blaze production on “I Love My Bitches” is motherfucking blazing though

    13. WE DON’T BELIEVE YOU – YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE

when I get out there and look them in the face

TAKE OFF YOUR GLASSES AND SHOW YOUR EYES AND FACE ONLY PEOPLE WITH SOMETHING TO HIDE DO WHAT HE DOES

    14. you know i think jay z fake king ass had 2 love when 9-11 happened ,, cause he was like imma be at the top for damn near ever ,, cause aint nonbody gonna be able 2 get as rich as i did off this shit ,, in order 2 make 50 a player in the game where he could trade a few shots with jay z the powers that be blessed him with that water ,, anyway a jay z collaboration means shit 2 me ,,nether do any of them niggaz he signed who were all protected while there friends went 2 jail ,,yall do know if pac an big wasnt killed they would be worth 2.3 billion combined ,,give or take 1 point ,,all that money jay z puff 50 cent cash money an at his time master p playin with was all pac big & aaliyah ,, but hey if marvin gaye wasnt killed he would of been bigger than clive davis ,,anyway ill let u morans finish with ur worthless comments an fuck all u other chicken shit niggaz

    15. You was just clowning the Big Homie Young about pushin shit back. I honestly fuck with Rick Ross as a rapper but as a person William Roberts thats his real name is a fake. ANy nigga play both sides he Danny Brasco remember that

      1. when he talked about jeezy he was talking about buzz. Im sure if jeezy had a health issue ross would not have been talking shit about push backs. you’re acting like he’s pushing shit back because he’s not relevant.

i really dont understand why its so hard to comprehend for some people. and i have no idea what the relevance of that donnie brasco comparison has to do with anything.

    16. My bad it is Donnie lol. I just watched CB4 last night. Shit reminded me of Rick Ross so much. I dont see how he can go to sleep at night knowing he made his whole life up. The things people do for money

      1. lol he always did feel he was real cause everybody he hung with got locked up an he was able 2 make his music ,, anyway theres truly no such thing as a real nigga in america when ur only allowed 2 kill an fuck over ur own black race while the true powers that be take ur money an make laws that say they can,,but yeah like tha art in the nigga flow tho
