      1. Are you fucking serious? How much poetry have you actually read? Common is pathetic– only by the idiotic standards of ‘hip-hop culture’ can he even be considered literate. Dude’s not even Gil-Scott Heron with a lobotomy, let alone LeRoi Jones, Ted Joans, Bob Kauffman (the last two I bet you never even heard of– look ’em up.)

      2. ^ dude get off your high horse. some rap is considered modern poetry like pac said. comparing common to gill scott heron and then demeaning him for it is just ignorant and very stuck up. shame on you. ive never heard gill scott over a beat like you apparently have.

      3. Dude I think you need to look up how to spell some of those names… how disrespectful do ya wanna be!?!

Besides, hip-hop is a form of poetry which is very much constrained… y’all got no idea what common could do outside the realms of hip-hop compositions

    1. im checkin for both Common and Rick Ross come december. TDTB stays nice and short and has just a couple of quality features just like Be. I think this could possibly be another hiphop classic from Comm

    2. Not hyped – lyrics will be good – but all beats by Dion?? (no ID)

Not sure – wasn’t impressed with the beats for Ghetto dreams or blue sky – sound outdated and boring….

When Kanye prouced most of BE – classic.

No ID on this has a lot to live up tooo.

I’ll be copping regardless – so we’ll see!

      1. No. I.D. is knayes mentor.

Common has wokred on resurection with him back in the days.

and how the FUCK! does Bue Sky sound outdated? when its one of the most fresh songs out today.

i hate people like yourself who have no idea how music is and are clueless on what the fuk there talking about

    3. Dogshit– nigga needs to ask his WHITE GHOSTWRITER for more help and make that “Universal Coon Control II” we all know he’s capable of.

      1. How many times are you going to post that shit? LOL. Common must’ve denied an autograph for you version of that book.

    4. Ghetto Dreams? How many times have I heard that title. You mothafuckas always rap about getting out the ghetto and the hardships of living in the ghetto but you still dream about it? Fuck out of here. I always hear about songs called ghetto dreams never ghetto nightmares, I guess the ghetto isn’t that bad after all then huh?

      1. Chill out.. At least Common is a real artist doing a song like that unlike half of these wack ass rappers today..

      2. ya this dumbass must not have listened to the song at all…it’s basically about a dream girl of someone in the ghetto….sexy, classy, but still got a hood side. you didn’t even have to decipher anything to get that

      3. If he can’t even get the meaning of that song, it’s no suprise that most real artists have a hard time to meet commercial success.

    5. more rappers should do 10 or twelve songs anyways cause most of the time we only get 6 hot tracks out of 15 and only 2 verses….not to mention only 3 min songs..smh…

    7. guaranteed dogshit, even with the WHITE ghostwriter.

rap retards need to read some BOOKS, some of which are written by actual black folks.

Gil-Scot Heron dead is >>>>>> this witless fuck’s career.

      UNIVERSAL MIND CONTROL II, YO!

    8. if this was a jay z cover people would be flipping their shit about illuminati. people decide whose in illuminati based on who they like and who they dont like personally. fuking idiots

      1. for real i was thinkin the same thing…its sad people take away from the fact that egyptians created such architectural feats and also all the other ancient cultures that created their own types of pyramids and reduce all that to “oh shit it’s a pyramid, must be illuminati”…these brainwashed mother fuckers are practically their own cult, the real illuminati probably loves dumb fucks like that

      2. yall know the egyptians were heavy into magic, which goes against anything godly.

but yall want to be like oh they built pyramids. who cares?

hitler built the blueprint for the boy scout…should his image and symbolisms be admired?

    9. I love how people even are assuming those are pyramids, they are just triangles colored gold and black. Only cunts believe that Jay-Z or Common could be in the Illuminati, they aren’t rich enough even if illuminati existed.

    10. its amazing how you can go to other countries and people know incredible history about Egypt and Akhenaten/Horus but you talk to Americans (especially blacks) about Egypt or pyramids and they automatically think “illuminati.” smh people dont seem to know their own history. I like the cover btw.

      1. What country?

Name a country that admires the ancient Egyptians more than the U.S. and Egpyt?

        Name one, you factless liar.

      2. Mexico, im not talking about people you’d find in modern textbooks. Im talking about some people that you could actually talk to in Mexico who respect the culture and History. btw, you sound mad.

      3. btw, this is from my experience and others close to me. the point is, I dont believe people should think of the occult when they see the image of a pyramid

      4. research what? (Its a serious question.) I am all for learning. Yet, do you not acknowledge my main point of people associating certain images with the occult?

      1. Do you know that most of the US symbols like the Lincoln Monuement, Pentagon, Eagle, etc. all have ancient Egyptian roots, and even further back to Babylon with Nimrod and the Tower of Babel.

Do you read? Do you research? Or do you just spout your opinion as fact?

      2. yes I acknowledge that there are Egyptian symbols in US politics “want a cookie” but I also believe that many do not understand the significance of those Egyptian influences on US politics. I believe its important to educate ourselves and each other instead of thinking that certain images such as the pyramid is immediately associated with the occult. does that make sense? yes, I do read and no I do not hang out with dumb people but I do try to help educate some of them.

    11. The album better be dope and common’s pops songs are always dope and are among my favorite songs from him. its funny how people are going crazy over this album cover though. They could just be individual triangles. I guess Geometry is Illuminati as well huh?

    12. Do people actually understand what symbols are? I’ve noticed how these believers in the illuminati have the most coloured view on things. And it’s religion that’s done the colouring. Utter morons. They don’t realise that one of the meanings of the eye symbol is God, instead use other ties to freemasonry. Complete fucktards. When you read books, read a wide variety of opinions instead of those that just tout what you want to believe.

    13. Anyone noticed how artists only started putting this sort of imagery into their work AFTER people made claims? Interesting. It’s called feeding into the hype.

      1. Exactly! “Watch The Throne”, “P.I.L. 2”, “The Dreamer/The Believer” to name a few and Juvenile biting Drake’s shit!

    14. As soon as I saw the artwork, I knew people would mention the Illuminati *sigh* we see a pyramid and everyone flips out. Good artwork but I wish the Album was released the date it said it waa orginally going to be out November 22nd (something like that)

Common is one of my favourite Artists who manages to release great Albums time after time, I am loving the Singles.

      1. A Fucking Triangle let alone a pyramid. I kinda (jus a lil) believe some of the aspects of the “illuminati” conspiracy but even i admit some people are fucking paranoid

    15. Another cover, that looks like “Watch The Throne” type of shit. Eveything’s must be conspiracy, must have triangles in every possible way, must be connected to illuminati, etc. That’s so creative. Personally, I think it’s poor. Very poor.

    16. Newsflash, the illuminati does not allow black people into its organisation let alone rappers. But hey it’s provocative it gets the people talking so lets mess with them because a standard portrait picture on the cover album wouldn’t have as many comments.

      1. newsflash, I didn’t know we knew all about the illuminatis, their rules and what people are members.
I mean it s supposed to be a secret society…
I mean we don’t even know if it exists…

    17. *Sigh* come on people look at the cover again and look closely this time. look real close. Where is the pyramid? What is it in the middle of? Now turn it upside down what do you see. Dreamer, believer.

      1. First now the illuminati doesn’t exist, now its a racist party? You guys would suck the devils cock if he let you…people are just wondering why this sudden interest in eyes, the macabre, and pyramids, especially when its from the most popular or famous artists. There is something with this symbolism and quoting Kendrick Lamar isn’t an intelligent refutation of the illuminati. Illuminati doesn’t care about race if you know anything about…but leave it to some black folks to think everything revolves around race. I like this album too, but the cover being “artistic expression” but not being able to explain it is fishy…that’s why the illuminati ideas are running rampant. If you never studied or understood it i can see how you don’t see its relevance, but trust me if you do, you’ll connect some dots. Oh shit i wrote way too much…back to some occult Common music!

    18. wow, if the first thing your thinking about when your about to buy this album is the illuminati just because of some triangles, then just dont bother to even buy it in the first place

    19. Everybody please shut the fuck up about that damn illuminati shit. Don’t none of yall know anything about it and neither do me. Just listen to the damn album.

    20. MOST YALL DONT EVEN HAVE THE FOGGIEST CLUE WHAT AND WHY PYRAMIDS EXIST SO JUST SHUT UP PLEASE BLACK PPL IN AMERICA LOOK SO DAMN IGNORANT WHEN PPL FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD SEE THE TYPE OF CRAP YALL WOULD CHOSE TO BELIEVE ..HAVE ANY OF YALL EVER PICKED UP A BOOK ?

    21. Resurrection (Classic) One Day It’ll All Make Sense (Classic) Like Water For Chocolate(Classic) Be (Classic) The Dreamer, The Believer (Gonna be a classic) Why is Common never mentioned along the greatest rappers of all time?

      1. Because he doesnt cater to the negative sterotypes that make blacks look like crack dealers, thugs, and bitch beaters. The most promoted rappers are the ones who paint blacks in a negative light. Common isnt mention amongst the greatest for the same reason Lupe, Nas, Talib Kweli, and several other extrememly talented rappers will never be listed amongst the greatest.

    22. If anybody who CLAIMS to listen to hiphop dont cope this album when it drops ..you need to slap yourself with brass knuckles **hard**…Sonically this album is Beautiful!!!

    23. Just as jay-z got yall watching the throne, artists like common, kendrick lamar, and the roots bring your attention back to us, the people, and the culture.

      Hip-Hop

      1. Kendrick Lamar??? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

    24. I like some songs on here.

No ID can be dope (see “Ready Set Go” T.i. or Resurrection by Common)

But only a few songs grab me instantly, and not the singles.

This is definitely no Water for Chocolate or Be (RIP DIlla) but it might grow on me.

one thing is for sure tho, GOOD music dropped the ball hard this year.

      1. Why do fans always have to compare and artist’s album to his previous work? Artists (just like everyone else) grow and develop. Nobody is the same person they were 5-10 years ago. Let a brotha grow, along with the music. Nobody said the album was gonna be another, “Be” or “Resurrection”. Damn!

    25. i dont know what the fuck joe talking about with that eminem line but anyway resurrection was an amazing album but that was 94′ bra, its 2011 an artist has to expand his style and sound.

    26. IF U LOVE HIPHOP AND I MEAN REALLY LOVE HIPHOP BUY THE DREAMER THE BELIEVER ..DAMN THAT “GOLD” SONG JUST MADE ME REALIZE WHY I LOVE HIPHOP NOT RAP MUSIC HIPHOP!! IF THIS ALBUM ISNT NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY NEXT YEAR ..OOUHHHH I NOT EVEN GONNA COMMENT FURTHER ,,FREAKING GREAT ALBUM THIS IS

      1. now people can’t see a triangles without actin’ paranoid seein’ Illuminatis ewerywhere. you know you can see a square if u want to see a square, stop thinkin the way they want you to think

    27. DAMN THIS SHIT WEAK AND BORING AS FUCK!! I TRIED TO LISTEN WITH AN OPEN MIND BUT I ENDED FALLIN ASLEEP ON MY KEYBOARD!! NOT 1 HOT SONG!!! THIS GRANDPA ASS NIGGA SUCKS!!

      5 LETTERS: YMCMB

    28. COMMON A WEAK ASS NIGGA!!!

I’M A YOUNG MONEY SOLDIER NIGGA STEP TO ME IF YOU WANT PROBLEMS BITCH!! STILL GOT THE .45 TUCKED IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT NEXT TO THE IPHONE CHARGER TRICK!! ASK ABOUT ME!!!

      5 LETTERS: YMCMB
