Billboard.com critically acclaimed projectLive Love A$AP, which dropped this past Monday. During the interview, the Harlem upstart discussed his recent deal with Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records, for which he reportedly pocketed $3 million. Rocky explained that he didn’t actually receive a $3 million check for the deal, but that signing his solo deal and his own imprint A$AP Worldwide to the label earned him the total amount.

“I don’t have a $3 million dollar balance in my account but the record deal was $3 million though,” A$AP said. “I got a deal with RCA/Polo Grounds for A$AP Worldwide and I got a deal with them for my solo project, my solo deal; if you combine both deals it amounts to a three million dollar deal.”

A$AP also discussed being hesitant about signing to a label and why he decided to go with Polo Grounds Music in the end. He said that he doesn’t want to rush into his music career to quickly. He also added that Live Love A$AP will be getting the commercial treatment, courtesy of Sony RED Distribution.

“I didn’t want to sign with a label. I’m not in a rush. There are other things I want to do,” he explained. “My mixtape is better than a lot of people’s albums…[it’s] a classic. It’s only right to put it out at retail.”
