Atlanta, Georgia veteran rapper Lil Scrappy announced a new venture this morning. The artist formerly signed to Lil Jon’s BME imprint, Ludacris’ DTP Records, as well as a venture with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records has now partnered with J. Wells‘ Bonzi Records. Scrappy’s Gs Up label and manager Kevin Clark’s S-Line imprint teamed with the producer-turned-A&R for the likes of Kurupt, Goodie Mob and others.
Scrappy’s Bonzi debut will be his long-delayed The Grustle studio album. The work, planned for early 2012, will feature Bun B, 2 Chainz and Twista (including the single “Helicopter”), among others. Prior, Scrappy is said to be releasing a mixtape with DJ Scream next month.
Now independent, Scrappy’s last studio album was 2010’s Prince of The South 2, with Real Talk Entertainment.
