Spotify U.S. launched Idle Warship’s Habits of the Heart album stream three weeks before the project’s release date.

The group, consisting of Talib Kweli and Res, spoke on the bold decision to begin streaming the album today (October 11).

“Fans being able to have your music is more important than any dollar sign,” said Res to Billboard. “[Spotify is] a great way to connect over social media. We are young and current artists, so I think this the best way to connect our music with the fans.”

“There’s always going to be pirates and there’s always going to be thieves,” added Talib. “The way I see it, if people truly love my music, they will support me in some way down the road.”
