Universal Music Group’s distribution, marketing, and sales group Fontana has partnered with of Hip Hop’s well-recognized southern record labels, Trill Entertainment.  Fontana’s president, Ron Spaulding, teamed up with Trill’s Co-CEOs, Marcus Roach and Melvin Vernell for the completion of the deal.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Melvin and Marcus for a long time,” said Spaulding. “And we are all thrilled to have them now part of the Fontana family. We’re looking forward to helping them build a national powerhouse in Trill Entertainment.”

Created in Louisiana by the late Pimp C of UGK, Trill Entertainment is now housed in Atlanta and is home to artists including Lil Boosie and Webbie. The label also released a film under Trill Films, titled Ghetto Story, which featured Mike Epps, Hoops, Bun B, and Paul Wall.

Currently, the label is gearing up for album releases from Webbie this year, and Lil Boosie in early 2012.
