Though Young Jeezy’s Thug Motivation 103 finally approaches release, Jeezy hasn’t forgotten about the latest signee to his Corporate Thug Entertainment imprint, Freddie Gibbs.
“When I met him, got a chance to get in the studio, kick it with him – we definitely hit the strip clubs a few times – I just kinda realized he was a lot like me,” recalled Jeezy in an interview with Bootleg Kev. “Just from a different city and a different town. We got hoods everywhere, but Gary [Indiana] just one of those cities that’s, you know, the whole city’s definitely hood. He explains that struggle, and I feel that the world need to hear that. I want to be a bigger part of that, and here we are. We about twenty records in, and we grinding.”
When asked when his CTE debut would drop, Gibbs replied, “I’m just workin’, man, wherever the chips fall. I ain’t even trippin’ on that, man. I’m just staying relevant.”
“I ain’t got no set date for nothing,” added Gibbs. “I’m just on the grind. Make sure I’m in your face.”
