Ruff Ryders Reveals Tracklist For “Past, Present, Future,” Features Eve, DMX & More

Although DMX may have only earned his freedom from jail this past July, that hasn’t stopped the Ruff Ryders team from staying on the music grind. Now, the Yonkers-based rap label is planning to release its latest project this fall with a familiar face at the helm.

According to a recent press release, Ruff Ryders will drop its latest compliation project this October 18. The as-of-yet untitled mixtape will feature the Ruff Ryders’ latest member Mook fronting the project’s first single “You Know,” an update of DMX’s 1998 hit “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem.”

Mook first gained notoriety on the rap battle circuit as Murda Mook, famously battling Fight Klub champion and one-time Disturbing Tha Peace signee Serius Jones. He signed to Ruff Ryders’ independent extension Ruff Ryders Indy back in 2009.

The video for “You Know” can be seen below.

    1. ain’t the same without X, the Lox, Drag-on, Eve… That team used to ride, RR vol.1 and 2 were serious. The feeling ain’t the same, and this don’t compare to the way they did it in 98.

    2. i wanna hear ruff ryders. the current state of hip-hop is so bad, it’d be better if hip-hop didnt exist at all. fucking carter 4…dont even get me started

    3. as a fan of the Double R Movement:

      * it would be WAY more appealing if they came back with the original line up (as others posted) DMX, EVE, LOX, Drag-On…production by mostly Swizz Beatz, Dame Grease, & P Killa Tracks….

      * THEN filter in the new RRs (like Mook) bring in new up and coming producers and current popular producers (Lex Luger, Alchemist, Kanye etc) to keep the original audience AND extend out to this new Hip-Hop crowd

      * it will NEVER be like the original because the RR crew has grown so much (Eve-TV, movies, clothes/Swizz-Reebok, Aston Martins,ect/JadaKiss-pop success/DMX, movies, legal drama) plus “Hip Hop” has changed and MOST noticeable, Hip Hop AUDIENCE has changed

      1. jada aint in the top tier, jaz, ye, em, drake, wayne etc, but he right there 2nd tier.. aint like hes a bum.. hes still droppin gold when he drops

    4. Unless you running around screaming Double R, you ain’t gonna be feeling the song. Mook over powers the track and instead of making a song that can rock a crowd, it is yet another rapper trying to prove to the world how hard he is. RR, unfortunately, this ain’t gonna be the break through come back track you hoping for.

    5. I DONT GIVE A FUCK CAUSE I JUST SHITTED!!!! WHAT TIL YALL MUTHAFUCKAS HEAR MY COMPILATION ALBUM ICING TONEY AND THE 185TH GAS SPECTIC CREW!!! HOLLA BITCHES!!!!!!

“UP IN THE CLUB WIT ALL THE BITCHES AND THE BUDD MY CREW IS DEEP AND DONT NO NIGGA WONT NONE”

THATS ON MY HOOD 179TH HIGH TIL WE DIE YOU BITCHES!!! Yeah and we know about Anthony couldnt get his worm sucked by a fuckin prostitute what a fuckin shame!!!!

    7. Where’s X, Drag, Lox, Eve or….. I have bought one or two of these joints in the past, but it doesn’t look too good this time…

    8. This video is extremely boring. Just a bunch of motorcycles and a crowd standing around doing nothing. DMX made these past RR videos rowdy as hell. It’s not RR without the original crew!

    9. could not see this new stuff being as dope as the old ruff ryder cds i rode to all 3 volumes growing up!! they might not of been classic but they had bangers on there man i miss that era when the east still got looks! now everyone wants to hear party and pop music which is coo too but damn can i let some street shit ride sometime! lol

    10. THIS IS NO SHIT WITH OUT DMX RR IS HAVY WITH DMX THEY MOST PUT THE ORGINAL RR ON NOT THIS JOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DONT LIKE RR NEAD DMX ON THE LEAD!!!!!!!!!

    11. Yeah, I respect & understand their movement is still going strong. But, once the original foundation (X,Lox,Eve,Swizz & Drag somewhat) established their credibility in & outside of the music realm. People didn’t associate them with RR that much. I’ve followed Mook’s career, since he was battling on Smack DVD. Unfortunately he isn’t (or can’t be) the savior of this label, it would’ve been ill if X or Kiss or an ad-lib from Swizz would’ve helped . Just him alone, isn’t making RR an impact again.

“It’s my truth, I’m sticking to it, deal with it”

    12. Mook, Mook, Mook, Mook Mook.. WHO THE FUCK IS MOOK???! DMX, LOX and Eve all on one song only, list looking lame… Shella also, who the fuck that?

    13. only true heads know who mook is. watch the the smack dvd forgot the disc number but mook or murder mook that is is ill as fuck. I still cant decide who won battle mook was tight but that nigga serious jones was a beast. looking foward to this album

      1. No hate, just that when they announce a new Ruff Ryders album we expect DMX, LOX, Eve and so on instead of unfamiliar names. It’s like if they announced a new Wu-Tang album and it would feature Nevaheard on half the tracks and Meth, Clef and Ghost only on one track, wouldn’t you feel disappointed?

    14. I been Double R goin on 15 years now & what really fucks me off is they talk about X bein the leader but let’s go back.
      Ryde or Die Vol. 1
track 1 (Ryde or Die) track 8 (Bugout Freestyle) & track 15 (Some X Shit)
      Ryde or Die Vol. 2
      track 15 (The Great)
Ryde or Die Vol. 3: In the R We Trust
      track 14 (Friend of Mine)
Ryde or Die Vol. 4: Redemption
      track 9 (Get Wild)

I been on the site looked it all up where the fuck is Flashy & Kartoon at they go hard for new generation!

    15. man this is ok i guess but i doubt the songs wil lbe that dope they prob jus threw this together to say ruff ryder is back, the lox needs to drop they own album under the name and that would shake things up more than this, dmx hasnt sounded right for years im really interested to hear how he turns out and if his style wil develop at all
