It was all about Game this week, as the Cali emcee’s upcoming album R.E.D. delivered several new leaks with star-studded collaborations from Hip Hop heavyweights like Lil Wayne, Drake and OFWGKTA frontman Tyler, the Creator. Other upcoming albums like Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV and Pusha T’sFear Of God 2: Let Us Pray brought forth a few singles. Wale came through in the clutch with a pre-MMG masterpiece mixtape called The Eleven One Eleven Theory.
R.E.D. Rules Everything Around Us
Game almost owned 50% of this week’s Top 10 list, taking the #1, #2, #5, and #6 spots. However, #5 was a 20-minute freestyle Game executed over the “Otis” beat. Lil Wayne popped up in two places – taking the #1 spot with Game and Tyler on the R.E.D. leak, but also dropping in at #3 alongside Drizzy for another glimpse into Tha Carter IV. Game clearly knows who is on his list of favorite rappers, but has a special Based God in mind when it comes to his pick for the wackest.
Wale Brings His Pre-Maybach Swag Back
While Styles P (#7), Pusha T (#4), and even Crooked I (#9) made some waves in song this week, Wale closed out the list at #10 with “Chain Music.” Unbeknownst to Hip Hop, Wale dropped that track in anticipation of the surprise delivery of The One Eleven Theory mixtape, which was the top mixtape this week. The mix was in celebration of the MMG rhymespitter reaching one million followers on Twitter. Rumor has it, the mixtape crashed Hulkshare in downloads. All in a day’s work, Wale.
