New York City rapper and former Capone-N-Noreaga member N.O.R.E. made an appearance on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club yesterday (August 17) for an almost 20-minute long interview that touched on everything from his relationship with Pharrell Williams to the end of Capone-N-Noreaga.
The interview kicked off with N.O.R.E. once again addressing the beef that came about with the release of Prodigy’s book “My Infamous Life.”
“At the end of the day Prodigy didn’t lie he exaggerated. Lying is ‘Yo, I was at The Breakfast Club show [and] I killed the show.’ And I never came up here,” N.O.R.E. explained. “At the end of the day, and I mean no disrespect to him, it’s like you ever see these kids from Long Island and they really don’t know the ghetto? But they come to the ghetto and they feel like they’re so much a part of the ghetto. So they see the ghetto [and] they actually love it. When you from the ghetto you don’t love it. You don’t even like it. So that’s what I think. I think he was hype, gassed on his self, and at the time he wrote it we weren’t gonna be friends.”
Later in the interview N.O.R.E. went on to speak on his relationship with rapper/producer Pharrell and how he never seemed to be acknowledged for helping launch Pharrell and The Neptunes’ music career with “Superthug.”
“The other day we shot the video, it was real hard to get Pharrell for the video. Lil Wayne was like so easy. So it was real hard to get Pharrell for the video. So we finally got Pharrell and it was like I just wanted to run away from him because it was so hard. He was in the middle of recording your boy’s Fabolous and Ne-Yo. Cool, Fabolous and Ne-Yo but I’m N.O.R.E. Come walk across the street,” said N.O.R.E. “And it kinda got me a little. I was on a 15-minute wait. He walked over, we did it, and when he left I was like me and him had to talk. And he must have sensed something and the very next day he called me…He called me and he said ‘Yo N.O.R.E., I apologize. I was rushing and all that.’ But he finally admitted that. He was finally like ‘Yo, if it wasn’t for ‘Superthug’.’ And I don’t care if he said it to the world; it meant the world to me.”
When asked about the disbanding of Capone-N-Noreaga, N.O.R.E. described a recent incident in which he was stood up by Capone when they had a show in Queensbridge and didn’t hear from the rapper until two weeks later.
“That’s my brother right and we recently – somebody called me to do a show. The show happened to be in Queensbridge…My drama in Queensbridge has always been over Capone. I don’t have beef in Queensbridge. I mean I’ve handled the beef in Queensbridge, but originally it never started over me,” the rapper explained. “So as a brother I just felt like he should have stood next to me. I came, I brung all the jewelry I could put together on and I walked through that projects by myself and held it down…It just really, really hurt me as a friend.”
N.O.R.E. is currently working on his solo career.

Capone shook in his own hood…that sucka!!! he sent you off Nore
I respect NORE for always bein’ his own dude. He’s also one of the only rappers left that actually has a sense of humor and doesn’t act like he’s too good for his listeners.
nore still that dude bump that geting hed n da wip bout 5times the other day NORE/MELVIN FLINT allday
nowdays am like damn a neptunes beat
Doggystyle was my favorite position until I switched it,dead shit got on some head shit lol Classic shit my G
This article is incoherent as fuck. Either Nore wasn’t sober during that interview or the hhdx columnist wasn’t when he wrote this shit.
Man Shut the hell up!!! He what he felt.
CNN is a wrap
yeah this is wack.that was the worse interview ever. either u making him look stupid. or you guys dont know how to type no more. ive been seeing alot of typos lately. im reading it like am i stupid. then i see another comment like this shit here and there. not making points. its like what the fuck am i reading. nore u mad that good ass album didnt do good. and your career over too. so dont get heated that album didnt sale. you took a hiatis for a hot min.
Damn dude, sometimes a nigga get too old to be asking for trouble. At the end of the day when you or ya man is lying in the street, or sitting in jail for defending ya own, only ignorant niggas is gonna respect for “holding it down”. That shit sounded adolescent right there. You’re a grown ass man!
This interview made no sense at all. capone is obviously a snitch, the album was atriple dud! I was actually expecting saomething great. It was missing the master mind behind the whole project, Tragedy Khadafi..i dont have an idea why Raekwon put that out, N.O.R.E was on a role until the album finally got a release, for now CNN is a wrap
CNN was a good run, after the 2nd album, though the first is a classic. And if anything, Nore made CNN, along with production from Tragedy and shit. Capone was locked up during The War Report, and Nore held most of that shit down. Capone’s voice has always been annoying, and he had a wack ass solo album. Nore was repping him the whole time. Oh well, Nore, DO YOU!!
Nore is that dude!

* Capone ought to recognize that CNN’s success was LARGELY built off of NORE’s grinding!!!
* Pharrell HAS to recognize that Superthug put Neptunes on the map, Teddy Riley letting them ghost produce gave them experience but not exposure
* Capone’s career has ALWAYS been based off of NORE, now its…done
that last album was a beast. but i dont know why nore think he gonna sale. if he has no hits for the club or for the masses. nore finito is straight trash. but i was really focused on how this interview was all over the place. and sucked. capone is better than nore. but nore has that mass appeal since capone was locked. nore hasnt had a hit since 04 WOW
Yo Rap dudes that were groups need to keep their dirty laundry between themselves, who cares if Capone Stood you up?, that’s none of our or HHDX business. That’s between you and Cap, Wearing Jewelry through the projects? Who does that? It’s 2012 Nobody rocks Mr.T type Jewelry anymore thats so 2010, Don’t care if I had a bazooka on me, I’m not taunting kids in the hood to loose their life by Rocking Mad Jewels.
CNN been a rap and it’s obvious Nore was the one holding the torch when it was lit, and Capone shook of all the snitching he been up too. Let it be my dudes, let ninja’s live, don’t put your once PNC on blast because of dumb chit, No matter what if he truely your PNC he could snitch on 10000 ninjas and you still Rep him because that’s what’s Loyalty and Honor is about…1
