Ne-Yo is getting back to the music with the announcement of an upcoming mixtape hosted by comedian Kevin Hart.

Breaking the news on Twitter, the R&B singer/songwriter explained that the “101 mixtape” is something to hold over listeners and fans until his next album hits stores. According to Ne-Yo, the music will convey a “side of me rarely seen” and gives him a sense of freedom that he hasn’t had before.

Aside from music, Ne-Yo is gearing up for a stint on the big screen in the George Lucas-produced Red Tails, hitting theaters January 20, 2012.
