Reports first surfaced on late Friday that Murder Inc. had been forced to leave the Universal Def Jam offices due to the ongoing investigation by Federal authorities. As previously reported, there are investigations as to whether or not Murder Inc. was laundering Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff’s profits from drug sales.
Murder Inc. is moving from the Universal Def Jam offices, but that is apparently not the reason at all. Island Def Jam CEO Lyor Cohen cleared up the situation.
“Murder Inc. is going to move offices,” Cohen told AllHipHop. “It’s only because of office space. They are growing. They have a producers division, they have a film company, they have a touring company. I don’t know how all of this got twisted.”
