Cee Lo Green has been tapped to play Raekwon’s father in his upcoming biopic, titled C.R.E.A.M. According to XXLMag.com, the Lady Killer signed on after a simple phone call.
“Cee Lo Green [is] playing my pops in the film,” said Rae. “Cee Lo is gon’ play Raekwon’s ol’ dad! […] [He’s] a good friend of mine. When I called him and told him about it he was just overwhelmed. He’s just one out of the greats that’s gonna be on the project.”
The Gnarls Barkley member joins a cast that already includes The Cool Kids’ Chuck Inglish, who will play a younger version of the Staten Island, New York native. As for distribution, Rae is looking for a nationwide in movie theaters through a possible deal with Lions Gate.
“We’re definitely going for the theaters,” he continued. “The people that are gonna be involved with it definitely feel like it’s a great picture, and there’s a definite possibility it’s a Lions Gate film.”

Is this going to be hip-hop’s SGT. PEPPER disaster?
* i hope a big time studio gets in on this project. It should be as legit as 8 Mile, GRODT, & Notorious.
* i’m REALLY disappointed that the studios dropped “The Vapors” (Juice Crew biopic) that would have been epic and important for history of the culture
I’m more interested in RZA’s kung-fu flick. I know Lucy Liu has a role in this picture, it’s been too long since she’s starred in something.
And Russel Crowe.
Yo this sounds dope! Ghost & Cee Lo defo need to do a rnb collab.
Haha oh wow, Raekwon must have had one deformed, ugly crippled father. Poor guy!
“The people that are gonna be involved with it definitely feel like it’s a great picture”. Really? I thought they hated their own project.
This is what I love. Black people moving beyond above and beyond. Wu Tang is going for the most and that is what it should be.
