As Odd Future continues to be one of the most talked-about new acts in Hip Hop, former member and DXnext alum Casey Veggies has explained why he chose to leave.

“My whole life I wanted to my own thing,” he said in an interview with thesermonsdomain.com. “Going into anything, I always wanted to do my own thing. That’s just how I am. …It’s just me putting out my own albums and music. Having my own movement.”

“Me and Odd Future, we come from the same thing,” he continued. “We come from the same niche. It’s no stopping that. Everyone knows that. It’s all love, we got love for each other. We still gonna work, we still gonna make music.”

Veggies was fortunate enough to meet Jay-Z, who allowed him to listen to some of his recordings before the general public does. “It was crazy. He played me [Watch the Throne]. We chilled out a little bit, talked about music a little bit, I told him about myself and where I came from, and after that it was over. But it was dope.”

Could this meeting mean that a possible deal with Jay’s Roc Nation is in the cards? “It’s definitely a possibility. I don’t see why I wouldn’t. You never know.”
