Seven weeks deep, HipHopDX is giving you you the 10 most popular singles on the site from the past week. After every week our staff will give you the ranked list since the past Monday, based on visits. These numbers are reflective from the time of posting.

Common’s Resurrection

Since 2005’s Be, Common has been hard to gauge. The emcee-turned-actor made Finding Forever, an album that felt largely catered to couples than traditional Rap fans. Following, Universal Mind Control attempted to bridge contemporary Hip Hop with its beginnings, but soured many critics and fans. Now a Warner Brothers artist – Common’s first new label in nine years, things are cooking up. The Chicago, Illinois veteran is working on a full album with No I.D. – who worked with the emcee on two classic albums (Resurrection and One Day It’ll All Make Sense). After No made hits with Jay-Z and Kanye West, he’s back with his longest-running collaborator, and if “Ghetto Dreams” with Nas is any indication of the sound, brace yourself for the great take-back.

Game’s R.E.D. Dawn

Things are also heating up for Compton’s Game. With R.E.D. planned for August, Game had two singles appear in the Top 10 this week. The solo cut “New Jack City,” and the Def Jam-heavy “Bottles & Rockin’ J’s” from late last month. With plenty more surprises expected for Game’s Aftermath reunion record, it’s only just begun.
