Earlier this week, tragedy hit Nicki Minaj when her cousin, 27-year-old Nicholas Telemaque, was slain in New York. Nicki delivered the sad news to her fans via her Twitter account.

Yesterday (July 7), a song by Minaj titled “We Miss You” leaked online, which many believe was in response to her cousin’s death.

Not so, says Nicki, who took to Twitter once again to explain the situation.

Nicki further revealed that the track was originally meant for her album Pink Friday, and was sent to Mariah Carey and Keyshia Cole over a year ago for a potential feature, but didn’t make the album due to clearance issues.
