Nicki Minaj will appear in an all-new one-hour special titled The E! Entertainment Special: Nicki Minaj, premiering on July 13th at 10 p.m. EST on E!.
The Young Money rapstress will discuss her transformation from a young girl in Trinidad to a powerhouse performer and artist, as well as explain her boundary-pushing fashion choices, lyrics and looks. Guest stars on the program include her mother and father, as well as her mentor Lil Wayne, Swizz Beatz, her elementary school teacher and childhood friends.
During the special, Nicki speaks on her Caribbean upbringing. “Growing up in Trinidad, I didn’t know that we were poor, ten people living in a three-bedroom home and all the dogs and cats my grandmother had, none of the seemed really abnormal,” she recalls.
