This past week brought a couple of retail mixtapes for our ears, including Curren$y’s Weekend At Burnie’s, which dropped June 28th and Kendrick Lamar’s #Section80, which dropped July 2nd. Mick Boogie and DJ Jazzy Jeff also returned for the 4th of July weekend with the second installment of the Summertime mixtape. YMCMB’s Cory Gunz was slated to drop his tape Your Gift last month with the track “Outta My Mind” . However, instead Gunz drops Son Of a Gun this week on July 5th and The ILLZ drops his essential collection ILLZsential a day later on July 6th.
A handful of mixtapes are still awaiting dates. Lil Wayne has yet to offer a timeline for Sorry 4 the Wait plus Young Money spitter Tyga’s Well Done II. Whether or not his track with Chris Brown “Snapbacks Back” will appear on Well Done II remains a mystery. Still no word on Consequence’s whereabouts with Movies On Demand 3, as well as Freddie Gibbs’ A Cold Day In Hell. Gibbs just dropped his “made in 24-hour” album with Statik Selektah, Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away.

Curren$y’s “Weekend At Burnie’s” is an album not a mixtape
no its not its a mixtape for retail, just like the mixtape jadakiss dropped a while back , that was for retail
Weekend at Burnie’s was definitely an ALBUM not a retail mixtape or whatever BS that is… it was an album. Same with Kendrick Lamar’s. I don’t know what the fuck you’re talkin about. Jadakiss is a different story, it was released free before put up for retail. These two projects were paid albums, not free mixtapes like Jada’s.
