Native Tongues member Chi-Ali is currently serving a 14-year bid for second-degree murder at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in New York. But the rapper may be released sooner than expected.
According to court records, the 35-year-old, whose real name is Chi-Ali Griffith, is up for parole on February 28, 2013 following a parole hearing in October 2012. The minimum sentence he can serve is 12 years with a maximum of 14 years, which falls on February 28, 2015.
Before entering prison in 2004, the Bronx, New York native released one album in 1992, The Fabulous Chi-Ali, which was recorded at the age of 14. In 2000, he murdered a man named Sean Raymond, whose sister he was dating at the time. He was later charged with his murder.
