Flint, Michigan emcee Jon Connor will be the latest in a class of newer emcees testing the waters with a digital project. On July 12, Connor will release The Salvation to iTunes, which features production by Rob “Reef” Tewlow, of 50 Cent and early Bad Meets Evil fame.
There is no word as to whether other digital retailers will carry the project. The retail work will reportedly lead the way for Vinnie Chase 2, the sequel to Connor’s acclaimed 2010 mixtape.
Other new artists first releasing digital projects include Big K.R.I.T., Kendrick Lamar and Curren$y.
