Rakim is linking up with The Roots and J. Period to play his classic LP Paid in Full in its entirety in New York City, New York. The shows, taking place at 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. at the Blue Note on June 22nd, are in honor of the album’s 25th anniversary.
The show comes in the short series of Roots gigs taking place next week in the Big Apple. On June 20-21, Questlove will perform at 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. with Booker T on the organ, keyboards and vocals; Gary Bartz on saxophone; Eric Krasno on guitar; and Christian McBride on the bass.
Additionally, The Roots will be performing at the launch of Rebuild the Dream on June 23rd at Town Hall at 8 p.m.
