Los Angeles, California duo Blu & Exile released Below The Heavens in August of 2007 on the independent Sound In Color Records. The project would go on to become HipHopDX’s “Most Slept-On Album of 2007” and introduced many listeners to the emcee styling of would-be Sire Records emcee Blu and helped reignite the career of Exile, the Emanon alum.
After drawing several hundred dollars online, the rare CD version of the album has been welcomed with a new run of releases. According to UndergroundHipHop.com, the new version features the same tracks and artwork as the original.
Definitely my album of the decade.
Yup, best album of 2010. Just played that shit today without knowing the reissue was out. Track 11 and 13 by themselves shit all over other rappers albums.
I meant best album of 2000-2010.
