Yesterday at the Illinois State Senate, Republican Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno quoted a famous Wu-Tang Clan verse. Explaining that Staten Island, New York emcee Raekwon was touring in the state, Radogno read a statement from the veteran emcee that concluded, referencing his 1993 chorus from “C.R.E.A.M,” “Cash rules everything around [us], get the money, dolla dolla bill, y’all.”

Before quoting his song, Rae delivered the Illinois Senate the following statement: “The most precious thing in the world is the financial security and well-being of your family. You want to send your lil’ ones to the best school, and in the end, you want to know you left them with peace of mind.”

“C.R.E.A.M.” appeared on Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 debut album, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Earlier this year, Raekwon released his latest solo works, Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang on H20Water/EMI Records.
