A local deejay became the victim of an unruly crowd over the weekend during a concert in Wilmington, Delaware when he attempted to end his set. DJ Big Ant was stabbed in the abdomen during the event which first started as a political fundraiser for Richard Dyton and later turned into a concert.

DelawareOnline.com reports that following the stabbing the mayhem was brought outside and into the surrounding community. Extra police were then called to help control the crowd.

“I’m not a clairvoyant, but I’m no dummy,” said police Lt. Thomas Spell, according to DelawareOnline.com. “You have about 300 people there, with alcohol, in that kind of setting and in that kind of neighborhood. What we thought was going to happen, happened.”

Prior to the political fundraiser/concert officials at Parkway Academy, the school where the event was held, received several requests to have the event canceled because of potential disruptions in the community. Although held at Parkway Academy the event was not part of a school function nor did the event have any ties with the school.
