Though barely old enough to vote themselves, the New Boyz have signed on to tour three American high schools in order to raise awareness about young voter registration. The Rock the Vote Democracy Class, which will visit schools in all 50 states throughout this year, is a civics program that strives to get young people interested and invested in elections. The program uses “pop culture, video, a classroom discussion and a mock election” as ways to engage students.

The New Boyz will perform at three high schools next week: Detroit’s Osborne High School on May 4th, Cleveland’s John Hay Campus High School on May 5th, and Cincinnati’s Horizon Science Academy on May 6th. The group will also participate in voter registration and classroom activities. For more information on Rock The Vote Democracy Class visit the program’s website.

As for The New Boyz’ day job, they are currently promoting their upcoming sophomore effort Too Cool To Care. That record is set to be released on May 17th. Too Cool To Care’s current single, “Back Seat”, reached number 28 on Billboard’s Top 40.
